Ungstrup (11164), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 25, 2006 A deep red beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel, but also some fertilizer. The flavor is sweet caramelic with a slightly sticky end. Papsoe (9999), Frederiksberg, Denmark Nov 21, 2006 (Bottle 50 cl) Beautiful, clear reddish brown with a small, beige head. Light aroma of roasted malt. Medium-bodied with very sweet roasted malt - almost like a Danish "Hvidtřl" (table beer) only stronger. Quite a hoppy finish. 211006 yespr (6406), Copenhagen O, Denmark May 12, 2008 50 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with a redish glare and a tan head. Slowly collapsing. Light breadish and mild roasted aroma. Flavour is mild roasted and light breadish. Sweet yet not overly so. Ends with a mild breadish note. sk8viking (6077), Copenhagen, Denmark Nov 2, 2006 Bottle. Ruby colour with a medium beige head. Rye bread, caramel malty aroma and taste. Medium body with a sweet light metallic finish. JorisPPattyn (4283), Antwerpen, Belgium Jun 21, 2008 Beige, huge dense head over dark mahogany beer. Roasted, but fresh malt, dry black roasted barley, smoked sausage en bread aromas. Sweet, with a definite Pumpernickel flavour. Actually nice. Sweet, in a bready, not excessive way. Malt & dark malts. Light but nowhere empty, grist slickness. Light and actually great in its style!
