hughie (2374), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Oct 26, 2006 Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Pale amber. Strong fruit and hop aroma. Beautiful, sweet, fruity flavour: pear, apples, redcurrant. No bitterness at all. Could sit here drinking this for ever. Mind you, it’s the fourth beer of the day, which often provokes similar sentiments. joss (3210), Garching b. München, Germany Dec 9, 2002 Rated very fresh bottle. Heavily flowered aroma.
Dark amber color.
Good body.
Very nice beer - especially if you crave a shot of hops.
johndoughty (1692), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England Aug 25, 2003 Although this was the winner of the TESCO challenge in the winter of 2002 it now seems to have dissapeared from their shelves, which is very dissapointing in view of some of the mundane beers they continue to stock.Hops dominate giving a nice bitter edge. Pity is no longer around. DanielBrown (1919), Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, England Jul 26, 2005 Hand pulled at the Wellington, Birmingham. Golden beer - tranquill looking with no head. A fair firmness to the hop tang here. It’s not super crispy, but does have a marmalade fruity sour twang, which makes it refreshing and fully flavoured. Not a world beater by any means, but very proficient and seasonal. rauchbier (2875), Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, England Jul 17, 2002 Bottle conditioned. Golden amber colour, moderate head and a moderate fine condition. Initialy hoppy aroma joined by a flowery fruit note. Malty body with hints of elderflower and kiwi fruit and a good hop bitterness. Sweet and fruity finish with hints of hop.
