A Mes rate: Cask at The Crown.
Semi hazy mid brown with a slim white head. A bit of malt in the aroma but too much apple spoils it for me. Malt and wheat flavour with an odd meaty note and some slight pear. So so.

Cask, Quorn Fest 07. Hazy amber gold with no head. Aromas are floral and herbal with zesty citrus. Flavours are dry, bitter citrus with spices. Hoppy with grapefruit bitterness on the finish.

Cask@Quorn Octoberfest, 2007. Golden beer with a lightly vinous aroma and a quite dry flavour. Overall a nice slightly sour, dry and creamy beer.

Blackfriers. After only a day and a half’s venting it seems to have lost quite a bit of carbonation. Aroma has toffee and biscuit malt, spicey and hints of citrus off the hop. Taste is well balanced toffee, hints of pepper hop, hints of spice and a little hint of ink bitterness. Very very drinkable.

Cask, gravity, at Cambridge BF ’07. Copper amber. Fresh fruity aroma. Taste is rich, spicy and fruity, full of luscious flavours. Mid bitter finish. Best of the Festival. 12.1.08 Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Dark amber. Aroma seemed rather rough. Sour doughy taste. Strong bitter finish. There is a suspicion that this version was not ’identical’ to the Beerfest version.
