Very interesting. Kinda beery, a little sour, a little too sweet. Weird cloying thing mid palate. Not too alcoholic

A little too medicinal and sweet with too much clove, but it’s interesting and there are some good flavors knocking around. Lots of berry with some spice, pepper and clove. Grapes, plenty of honey. Fairly sweet, which isn’t necessarily bad but it doesn’t quite work here. It’s really just dominated by that clove note. Deep reddish purple color. Quite clear. Mouthfeel is a little thick for the abv. Light but prickly carbonation.

Bottle to tulip. Glorious purple pour that looks like black cherry jello. Non-carbonated but a lavender colored ring clings to the edge of the glass atop the liquid. Aroma of clove, honeysuckle flower, citrus zest, and blackberry fruit. Pretty congruent with the ingredients. Taste is clove and blackberry grape juice. Sweet Black cherry, cranberry juice cocktail, and orange flavors reveal themselves, too. The cloves numb the tongue a bit. Tastes like a nice mulled cider. I might try warming this on Thanksgiving. Would also contribute well to a sangria. I like the culinary possibilities in addition to sipping as a quenching after dinner elixir.

This Mead has a great feel with tart berries, white pepper. Slightly tart with a juice look. Honey is complement to the mead than a dominate flavor.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
The aroma is very sweet and fruity with berries, spices, and honey. The appearance is crimson with a thin almost non-existent head. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is thin but right for the style. Overall a great drink.

Simple wasn't for me. All I could taste was the overpowering clove. I guess you could call this a "Clove Bomb"

Pours a deep ruby violet with a thin pink-white ring of bubbles around the edge. Nose is mercifully subtle with clove cigarettes, jammy fruit, almost like a peach or apricot note. Fairly sweet, more tart. Medium bodied, fairly active, with a tangy drying spicy finish. Seems pretty versatile, like it would be good with pancakes or Belgian waffles for brunch, or you could sit around a campfire with it. Once again, well balanced, very drinkable, and not as weird as it sounds. Good.
