draft at Blue Monk. pink purpleish pour, aromas and flavors of blackberries, orange peel, clove, allspice & cinnamon. Pretty great, wouldnt be able to drink much, due to how sweet it is, but this was great. Can you drink this warm like the Unibroue beer?

Bottle. Pours a clear deep ruby color with a slight pinkish head. The clove is instantly recognizable in the nose (almost too much) along with the blackberry. Medium/light mouthfeel. Again, the clove is pretty instant in the flavor and reminds me of those clove cigarillo’s from back in the day. Sweet blackberry as well. The orange zest pretty much gets lost in the flavor but makes a brief appearance in the back end. Overall, this is a very different mead that I am not too sure I would try again.

Very interesting. Kinda beery, a little sour, a little too sweet. Weird cloying thing mid palate. Not too alcoholic

A little too medicinal and sweet with too much clove, but it’s interesting and there are some good flavors knocking around. Lots of berry with some spice, pepper and clove. Grapes, plenty of honey. Fairly sweet, which isn’t necessarily bad but it doesn’t quite work here. It’s really just dominated by that clove note. Deep reddish purple color. Quite clear. Mouthfeel is a little thick for the abv. Light but prickly carbonation.

Bottle to glass. Deep Purple with a thin pink light head. Nose is strong clove with spices and a blackberry finish. Sweet front of body with fruity sweet blackberry that quickly goes into big clove and a honey finish.

Bottle to tulip. Glorious purple pour that looks like black cherry jello. Non-carbonated but a lavender colored ring clings to the edge of the glass atop the liquid. Aroma of clove, honeysuckle flower, citrus zest, and blackberry fruit. Pretty congruent with the ingredients. Taste is clove and blackberry grape juice. Sweet Black cherry, cranberry juice cocktail, and orange flavors reveal themselves, too. The cloves numb the tongue a bit. Tastes like a nice mulled cider. I might try warming this on Thanksgiving. Would also contribute well to a sangria. I like the culinary possibilities in addition to sipping as a quenching after dinner elixir.

This Mead has a great feel with tart berries, white pepper. Slightly tart with a juice look. Honey is complement to the mead than a dominate flavor. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The aroma is very sweet and fruity with berries, spices, and honey. The appearance is crimson with a thin almost non-existent head. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is thin but right for the style. Overall a great drink.
