Pours a deep ruby violet with a thin pink-white ring of bubbles around the edge. Nose is mercifully subtle with clove cigarettes, jammy fruit, almost like a peach or apricot note. Fairly sweet, more tart. Medium bodied, fairly active, with a tangy drying spicy finish. Seems pretty versatile, like it would be good with pancakes or Belgian waffles for brunch, or you could sit around a campfire with it. Once again, well balanced, very drinkable, and not as weird as it sounds. Good.

11/9/13. 500mL bottle from Grassroots. Clear purple or black/red pour with a small purple/white head that sizzles away. Whoooooaaaa clove on the aroma, berries and orange, potpourri all over this one. Sweet entry, a boatload of clove, way too much, hints at citrus. Once again, like a mouthful of potpourri. Reminds in a way of strong spiced cider at Christmas time, but with too much clove.

On tap at GTMW 2013. Berry red with no head. Aroma is sweet with honey, raspberries, cloves and black pepper. Tart one with raspberries, honey and a sweet and boozy finish.

Keg @ Beer Run. Deep red, small head. The nose is stron tart cheery, mulled wine spice. Honeyed brown bread. Caramelized oranges. The taste is orange zest, honey, pear, forest fruits. More mulled wine. Sweet, light body. Moderate carb considering the style. Overall, not my thing. Very much like a wine cooler.

Beautiful red-purple pour with gentle carbonation. Fairly heavy on the clove with some peppery notes potpourri and light blackberry. Flavor is spicy clove upfront, fading to blackberry wine with orange notes. Mild to moderate sweetness with lingering berry/orange citrus. Medium palate. Very earthy feel with the clove. Not exactly my thing, but unique. I think they captured what they were going for.

Bottle @ Armin’s place, courtesy of arminjewell. Thanks! Pours a clear, dark reddish purple appearance with a pink head. Big clove, apple berry, honey, a bit woody, sweet aroma. Spicy clove, vanilla, tree bark, honey, berry, pear flavor. A little too spicy for my taste.

Pour out of 500 mL bottle, dark reddish black pour with thin pinkish head, aroma is spicy with lots of clove, hints of berry, honey, slight orange, lemon hints of cinnamon almost, touch of vanilla. Taste is a mix of lots of orange zest, clove, hints of earth, nice honey, vanilla in there, some slight blackberry in there, finishing fairly sweet, spicy. Interesting for sure,
