Bottle. Pours like grape soda with no head. Aroma is blackberry and a hint of clove. Taste is blackberry and honey and a tiny hint of citrus. Full smooth palate. Very sweet but still incredibly tasty.

clearer and purpler than blood, but definitely an evocative appearance with a pinkish dense pillow of foam atop. spicy and peppery aroma of clove and fruit. fresh berry with little alcohol nose, quite intriguing. spritzy level of carbonation and more pepper and clove on the tongue than in the nose. blackberry and orange are noticeable but not dominant despite the huge color contribution from the blackberries. very nice, a successful effort from B Nektar.

Pours clear red with low pinkish head. Aroma of sweet cherry, almond icing, marzipan. Taste is very sweet, almost sticky sweet, but pleasantly so. Very drinkable. Light, smooth body.

Clear dark purple body with a very thin head of tiny redish purple bubbles. Strong clove aroma along with berries plus honey. Blackberry flavors along with the honey and a decent dose of cloves. Bubbly on the tongue with a slightly dry finish.

500 ml bottle split three ways. Pour is clear purple with no head or lacings. Nose is sweet with red berries. Taste has red berries, sweetness, some apple juice, honey and a tad to much clove. My least favourite of the B.Nektar "session meads" to date.

Bottle bought @ biere-revolution.com. Pours tiny sparkling purple with a small reddish bluish beige head that quickly dissipates without leaving any trace on the glass. Smell is sweet, fruity and tiny spicy with honey, dry soil, blackberry hard candy, cloves, hay and hints of kumquats. Taste is tiny sweet, slightly sour, fruity and slightly spicy with honey, blackberries puree, hay, cloves, nutmeg, orange zest, kumquats and hints of bilberries. Mouthfeel is round, slightly tart, slightly dry and light to medium bodied. Finish is tiny sweet, slightly sour, fruity and tiny spicy with honey, blackberry puree, hay, cloves, orange zest, bilberry jam and blackberry hard candy. Tasty and quite original...

Pours deep purple-tinged burgundy into a snifter. White bubbly head with little retention recedes to faint rim. Clove and orange aromas. Soft with clove front to back. Mild blackberry in the lasting finish.

wedgie9 (1825) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - JUN 11, 2014
Tasted on 6/11/14 from a capped 500mL bottle purchased at Bangor Wine and Cheese. Pours clear, very dark ruby red with a thin off-white head that leaves a thin collar. The nose is honeyed with blackberry, a hint of spicy clove, and just a touch of caramelized orange peel. The flavor is nicely dry, with the blackberry, clove, and lightly bitter orange peel all blending nicely with the honey. The body is medium with average, fizzy carbonation and a long finish that encompasses all of the above.
