4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours a very dark ruby, almost coagulated blood in color. A small head on a vigorous pour quickly recedes. The nose is of blackberries and light spice (clove). The mouthfeel is light, as it should be, but manages to be smooth and almost slick. The flavor profile is outstanding - complex, but balanced, and bursting in flavor. It begins with a burst of sweet blackberry which rides over a honey sweetness. It then progresses to a bit of tartness over a mild clove. The finish is smooth, yet a bit dry, and leaves you with a lingering flavor that is all encompassing. Outstanding is the only way to describe this 6% sparkling mead.

Too much clove christmas character. Otherwise – quite pleasant honeyish with nice blackberries, spices. Sweet all the way with light sourness. Decent brew, but too spicy for me

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Sample from a bottle brought by West to Ale Alpharetta. Pours dark red, with no head. The nose is immediately blackberries, with a strong and unmistakable note of cloves, and a hint of orange peels in the finish. Very sweet, with a low, pleasant savory spiciness. Medium body, crisp, clean, and acidic. This is a wonderfully forward and flavorful flavored mead.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
July Ale Alpharetta. Light, not overly sweet, vibrant mead with nice light carbonation. Big blackberry and clove notes dominated with a hint of citrus. Overall quite nice, and B Nektar continues to impress.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a clear dark ruby, not like he typical mead. Aroma has strong blackberry and honey notes. Raspberry dominates the flavor, somewhat sour. Texture is quite thick and fairly fizzy for a mead. Sink your fangs into one.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
clearer and purpler than blood, but definitely an evocative appearance with a pinkish dense pillow of foam atop. spicy and peppery aroma of clove and fruit. fresh berry with little alcohol nose, quite intriguing. spritzy level of carbonation and more pepper and clove on the tongue than in the nose. blackberry and orange are noticeable but not dominant despite the huge color contribution from the blackberries. very nice, a successful effort from B Nektar.

Clear dark purple body with a very thin head of tiny redish purple bubbles. Strong clove aroma along with berries plus honey. Blackberry flavors along with the honey and a decent dose of cloves. Bubbly on the tongue with a slightly dry finish.

500 ml bottle split three ways. Pour is clear purple with no head or lacings. Nose is sweet with red berries. Taste has red berries, sweetness, some apple juice, honey and a tad to much clove. My least favourite of the B.Nektar "session meads" to date.

Tap. Pours a clear amber colour with a white head. Sweet malty and sugary aroma. Taste is of fruits and berries, bread, honey and spices. Medium body and medium carbonation. Sweet with a dry finish. Too sweet for me.
