COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Only 20 gallons of this Cranberry Melomel (Batch 58) were made in January, 2010 (a melomel is a mead made with fruit). Orange blossom honey was fermented with 30 pounds of whole cranberries for a wonderful tart balance. Then we aged the mead on some orange zest to bring out the citrus-like character of the honey. The aroma is very complex with cranberry, honey and hints of citrus. The flavor doesn’t disappoint with tart cranberry up front followed by citrus-laden honey. This mead is also incredibly gorgeous in the glass with a striking pinkish-orange hue.

Tap at the 2014 Spring Mead Fest. Pours a cloudy light pink color with a few tiny bubbles rising up. Aroma is cranberries, sugar candy, and flowers. Tastes like cranberry kool-aid. Moderately sweet cranberries and honey. Nice flowers in the finish with a little lemon tartness. Good stuff.

Pours a very light pink golden hue. Still. Smells of tart crasins with a mild honey sweetness. Citrus indeed. Kinda smells like gatorade rain. Taste is a semi sweet tart cranberry with a mild citrus honey. It’s sweet but a bit acidic and a hint bitter in the finish Overall very tasty.

Pours the color of a Provencal Rose. Aroma is utterly amazing. Honeysuckles and jasmine seem to dominate, with hints of orange blossom and slight citrus notes. Flavor is a melange of citrus, cranberries, a waxy honey note, finishing with a slight, albeit pleasant astringency. Simply one of the best meads I have tasted in quite some time.

Bottle purchased at some store in Michigan. Pinkish orange color with no carbonation and moderate legs. Aroma of cranberry, honey and citrus. Sweet honey flavor to start, then drying out to citrus and cranberry wine before a semi-sweet finish. Not as dry as I was expecting, and that’s a good thing.

Thanks to MeadMe for the share. Pours a somewhat pink yellow. Nose is honey, dry mead, and hints of berry and some dry cranberry flavor. Flavor is similar- dry mead, light honey, and cranberries. I would love this mead with Thanksgiving dinner.

Pours orange with pink undertones. Strong earthy berry aromas with a hint of heat. Mild citrus and wonderful fresh honey. The flavor is great, more suited for a fall evening than a hot summer night but it’s spot on cranberry. Nice and tart cranberry with hints of earthy skin. The honey component is forward yet it manages to mingle just below the berry. Subtle citric notes as well. It is a nice dry mead, with a nice tartness that really bites in the finish.

Bottle. WOW! Awesome aroma of citrus, cranberry, honey and orange notes. Light pink hue. Very sweet and a little tart. Palate is medium-full bodied. Just an incredible mead! Very complex and I love that cranberry flavor! Very very well done.

Bottle shared by Derek - thanks! Pours a still, clear, pinkish color reminiscent of white zinfandel; thankfully this tastes so much better than that jug wine trash. Aroma is orange citrus with nice tart cranberry notes and lighter honey. Flavor is layered nicely with the lightly sweet orange citrus and honey notes up front being backed by a moderately tart cranberry flavor on the midpalate. The finish is on the dry side for mead with lingering orange and honey notes being dried out by hints of tart cranberry. Really nice melomel.

Bottle. Pours a clear orange with a pink hue with no head whatsoever. Aroma has a nice tart cranberry note, a bit of dry citrus and a backing honey that balanced nicely. Flavor is sweet with citrus honey with a really nice tart cranberry note that really came out in the finish. I really enjoyed this.
