This mead is the Non-Imperial version of our Imperial Funky Monky. A smaller mead, but big on flavor. Tart Balaton cherries, honey, and Styrian Golding hops.

UPDATED: NOV 30, 2013 Bottle: crimson red color with deep ruby in the center, only a few small bubbles that disperse quickly after the pour. Aroma is full of some tart cherry juice, light honey sweetness, & another pronounced fruitiness that seems to be something of the "berry" type. Taste is similar, cherry juice hitting up front with very subtle tartness that fades into a honey glazed sweetness. I’m getting faint hints of cranberry as well. Very, very light grassy tone mid-palate from the hop addition. Sweet cherry, delicate finish. Another solid & very drinkable mead from B. Nektar.

Bottle received in trade. Thanks Brandon! Pours sparkling deep red with a small fizzy pinkish white head that quickly dissipated without leaving any trace on the glass. Smell is fruity and slightly grassy with honey, grapefruit juice, sour cherries, unripe mango, freshly cut grass, pine needles, minerals, kumquats and lemon zest. Taste is tiny sweet, tiny bitter and slightly sour with honey, sour cherries, grapefruit juice, lime juice, pomegranate, red currants, freshly cut grass, pine needles, moist soil, kumquats and lemon zest. Mouthfeel is soft, very tiny sparkling, tart, slightly fruit skin astringent and medium bodied. Finish is tiny bitter and sour with honey, sour cherries, pomegranate, grapefruit juice, lime juice, freshly cut grass, pine needles, moist soil, kumquats and lemon zest. What a lovely tasty refreshingly tart session mead with an unique and amazing hop bite. Would have loved to have easy access to fresh bottles of this...

Bottle from Champane Cellars. Very much cherry juice, bulked up by waxy honey for mouthfeel, and with some recurring hop falvour in the finish. Cherry juice aroma.

Originally sampled in June 2014 from a bottle and again later on draft in Destin at The Craft Bar, enjoyed both times. Nice red pour, mild fizz, good legs, seems to stick to the side of the glass - looks nice. Nice aroma, cherry definitely present, maybe a bit of a booze burn, could just be fermented honey, a floral and earthy punch. Awesome flavor, I’m a sucker for cherries, nice cherry flavor, tart/sweet red wines, cherry pie, floral undertones, mild honey. Tasty!

It’s the closest thing you’ll find to mostly-organic fruit punch for adults, and a great intro to B. Nektar’s beverages.

(bottle - 500 ml) Rating #3600. Pinkish pour with a pink hued head. Sweet cherry and honey in the aroma. Lots of cherry in the flavor, but the more tart cherry than the overly sweet cough drop cherry. Smooth and a nice lingering tart finish.
