2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 hopscotch (8242) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - JAN 31, 2013Draft... Clear and straw-colored with a small, fizzy, short-lived, white head. The bouquet is a disagreeable marriage of green apple and musky/funky hops. Medium to full-bodied and a touch syrupy with only a trace of carbonation. The flavor offers sweet honey followed by a lightly bitter/mostly sweet finish. Note to B. Nektar: Knock it off. This stuff sucks. Cook up more Zombie Killer. Thanks. -Eric
2.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 andyhwcinc (1166) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 17, 2013
Purchased at Binnys in Chicago, IL; enjoyed at home tired after a Monday work day, playing on my new computer. I must say this is an extremely intriguing beverage, and I’m not sure if I like it, but I am intrigued. Appearance is a weird golden green, clear, with a very small white rim that is bubbly. First non-marketing gimmick green alcoholic beverage I’ve had. Aroma is a mixture of citrus hops, honey, and wine yeast, actually a rather unpleasant smell. Taste goes down like a cider with honey / mead notes as well as a hop flavor, but it doesn’t have the same bittering effects that hops adds to beer. It’s more like that beer additive flavor, like it tastes like hops, but it doesn’t feel like hops. In all honesty it’s not bad, but it feels like I’m not drinking an alcoholic beverage, rather a weird potion derived from a secondary world. Strange, strange beverage.

like a hopped mead/cider hybrid. weird beer. bit of weird earthy rustic honey. faint muddled hops. white grape. dry enough. okay.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Bacterial (467) - Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA - JUN 14, 2013
Clear pale yellow pour. Honey and apple in the nose, some floral notes as well. Just a little carbonation here. Sweetness quickly gives way to hops and some bitterness in the finish. Fun, interesting and certainly different.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 obguthr (3234) - Poquoson, Virginia, USA - JUN 4, 2013
Marigold, daffodil, and rubber nose. Pale yellow, fizzy pour but little carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass. Carbonation is felt on the palate though. Lemon-lime and honey flavor, with abundant floral hop notes, daffodil, marigold, and lilly. A subtle appearance of cantaloupe is a very nice touch. Very different and enjoyable.

500ml Bottle. Thanks Sean! Aroma initially is intensely grassy and vegetal, loaded with fresh hop pumpkin character and a few honey florals. Flavors develop similarly with some sharpness on the tongue and then a lot of the green vegetal. Interestingly, I let half of this sit out for a few hours and came back to it and it had opened a lot then being dominated by a pithy fresh grapefruit character and having lost the chlorophyll greenness. It does have an enjoyable soda pop likeness that reminds me of some Moscato d’Asti that I’ve had, in a very light, refreshing, flavorful way, not in an overly sweet and shallow way. Interesting stuff. I think I expected more bitterness and traditional IPA hop flavor and aroma, but what’s here is fun. I just think that it might not be best to call it IPA-style, since it seems far far far away from IPAs.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Fukito (682) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - MAY 14, 2013
Clear, pale straw color with some greenish hues and no head. Aroma is flowery honey with some citrus/ grassy hopiness. Flavor is a mix of herbalness and flowerness with a little bit of bitternes, gentle bitter aftertaste. Light palate, refreshing.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 EithCubes (4233) - New Jersey, USA - MAY 11, 2013
500mL bottle, intrigued by the idea. Nose out of the bottle is rubbery-astringent with honey, apple cider, floral/clover notes, stale air. Out of the glass it’s closer to rotting fruit. Ultra-pale body, essentially clear, with a short head that fizzles out. Taste is extremely sweet with medium bitterness that has a slow rise, lightly rubbery. Clover honey overtones are nice here but the hops are weak and a little dirty. Semi-crisp (well, meadish) fullish body and gentle, slow warming. I’m happy to say that the stale/off-flavors from the nose didn’t make it into the mouth, and that some hops oiliness did. Think of it as a mead and you won’t be disappointed; expect a beer or even a mead-beer fusion and, well ... .

Bottle. Pours a crystal clear light color with just a tinge of yellow in there and no head. Nose is sweet with some honey tones, but just a bit of a bite in there. Taste is an odd mix of sweet with a hint of bitter on the back end. It’s an odd combination that I’m not a fan of.
