COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Michigan wildflower honey and Balaton cherry juice combined with hops make this a Belgian beer-inspired treat. This melomel was a big hit at the World Expo of Beer, so we decided to make more.

Nice red pour. Aroma of cherries, blackberries, something a bit yeasty and dank, some cool hops. Flavor is sweeet/tart/some hop essence. This is damn good!

Gift from SJ. This is a solid brew. Really nice red pour with big berry and cherry aroma. Fruity taste, but not overly sweet, it has a bit of bread, hop and finishes tart and sweet. A good blend at a high ALC%. Something special for my 1900th

Bottle pours a bright deep ruby with spotty white head. Aroma of cherry, honey, white wine, and slight hops. Taste is very sweet, concentrated cherry juice, honey, apples, cranberry, and hops. Really sticks to the palate into a dry finish. Sweetness becomes less intense as it warms. Altogether interesting, I really enjoyed the hops in this although it was a little too sweet for me.

500 ml bottle from a friend in Wisconsin. Pours a deep, cloudy ruby red color with a small pink-tinted head. Aroma of cherries, pomegranate juice, herbs, earthy hops, honey, cough syrup, and tannins. Flavor has even more cherry pop to it, with honey, floral notes, and red wine. Medium-bodied, with a vinous mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Sweet and juicy. Definite booze present; drinks like wine. Excellent melomel.

(bottle from rayl101). Pours a clear deep red color that is wine-like or cool-aid. Aroma has loads of cherry. Taste is sweet with lots of great cherry flavor. Sticky sweet. Really awesome.

On tap at Jackie-Os, $10 for a tulip... At that price, I was on the fence about this one for a while... But it’s definitely a unique and interesting drink, that much was clear on the first sip. Clear ruby red color, sort of pink head that fades to pretty much nothing. It certainly looks interesting. First thing I noticed about the body was the slight warmth, like a wine, and almost no carbonation, also like a wine... But it has a much harsher bite, and when combined with the oily texture and spiciness, it’s a kick in the throat. This.. Is definitely funky. It has a great sour component to the taste, along with a rose wine -like sweetness, and a spicy bite. Hearty cherry element that works well with the honey. Not really sure what the hops add to the flavor, but I am getting a hint of the belgian yeast (Like I said, it’s funky). This would be an interesting alternative to a table-top wine, but the bite makes it hard to approach

500ml Bottle: Aroma of cherry, tannins, wood, hops, slight medicine, and alcohol. Poured magenta/ruby in color with no head. Clear. Lightly sparkling. Flavor is heavily sweet. Tastes of cherries, honey, and hops. Medium body. Viscous texture. Zero carbonation. Cherry, honey, and hop finish is heavily sweet. 12%ABV is present on the aroma but not the flavor.

Dark blood red in color with some light carbonation. The aroma is heavily tart and funky. Flavor isn’t as aggressive as I expected from the aroma, but it’s still a weird (but interesting) combo of sweet and sour. Sour cherries, sweet honey, and fruit juice, with noticeable alcohol.

Pours a deep burgundy-red (very much like a red wine) with a thin pink head. The aroma is cherries & yeast. Smells sour. Taste is completely opposite! Black cherries sweetened with sugar and maybe something citrusy. For some reason it makes me think of orange blossoms. Very viscous - it coats your tongue. This could be the fabled ambrosia.? Wow!

500ml bottle. Thanks to god... Pours a slightly transparent black cherry red with a slight film of flimsy soapy white head. Barely a noticeable head... Sweet sacharine muddled cherry presence. Lighter honey accents on the backend... Flavor more of the same with pronounced semi-tart cherry sweetness with a lighter honey backing. Warm and somewhat boozy feel but solid flavors overall. Semi-thick and syrupy mouthfeel. Slightly present level of carbonation.
