Bottle. The pour is a very light red, more pink. The aroma is tart. The taste is big on cherries, some apple and the honey adds to the sweetness. I don't get any rye from it at all though. Good mead. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle courtesy of Vinny at Paul’s May 2014 tasting. Pours a bright, clear pinkish orange with no head. Nose is sweet candy cherries, not real cherries, but the kind you find in your pina colada. Pina-colada cherries. Mouthfeel is medium to light with notes of maraschino cherries. Awesome cherry-centric mead.

Bottle shared with a bunch of heady brahs at Paul’s tasting. Poured golden with a touch of red. Not much head or lace which is standard for the style. Apple, fruit punch, cherry pie, oak and honey funk rounded this wonderful mead out. I thought that Zombie killer was more cough drop cherry forward, but this one was more complex and unique with the rye barrel addition. Really does resemble a Manhattan cocktail. Cheech ahh

Nice sweet honey smell. Taste was honey, cherry, and booze with some apple juice in there. Didn’t get much barrel, although the boozy aspect of the taste might have had a faint whiskey note in there. A bit more boozy and flat than Zombie Killer. Overall, this is more complex and better smelling than Zombie Killer, but I like the taste and texture of Zombie Killer better, so I’d rather have that than this.

Reddish colored pour, super light pink head. Nice tart apples, cherries, sweet honey, hints of oak and whiskey on the finish. Damn tasty...again!

Devilishly bloody body, no head - blood wine. Incredible. Dank sacks of mild sweetness, blanket and dusty. Threads of clean bitterness, chutes of fruit sweetness and a dry trickle of grain. Sweet finish, smooth and clean. How this is a wine ABV ah dinnae ken.

Bottle at Craig’s. Pours hazy gold, thin white head. Aromas of stewed fruit and honey. Tastes brings more honey, apples and wood. Thin for 12%, but refreshing. Good.
