COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Many years ago, a mysterious book was discovered by a group of friends in a Ferndale, MI basement. A translation of its contents revealed the recipe for an ancient beverage using mango juice, honey, and black pepper. What they didn’t realize was that creating the beverage had dire consequences. Stricken by fear after its compleation, the friends tried to contain the terrifying forces into this very bottle. Once opened, however, no one can say for sure if it can be conquered. Very clean and light pour with a tint of yellow. Wonderful nose, very clean and fruity notes with a nice ethereal honey note on the finish. Peppery notes help to avoid a cloying nature. Crisp and lightly spicy in the flavor, soft fruit and mango notes with a light honey background. Medium body with a crisp carbonation and peppery finish.

Bottle. Pours clear, light yellow with a tiny fizzy white head. Aroma is honey, mango, pepper. Taste is lightly sweet with notes of honey, mango and pepper spiciness. Almost more like a cider than a mead due to very light body and high carbonation. Interesting, not going out of my way to find it again.

Pours clear, bubbly champagne gold with a minimal white head. Aroma is honey, mango. Taste is sweet honey with a slight tropical tartness.... A hint of black pepper after a bit.....pepper just keeps growing for minutes after. Excellent.

Bottle purchased at Siciliano’s. Clear white pour with no head and no legs. Aroma of tropical fruit, honey and cider. Tropical fruit flavor with some citrus accents before a semi-dry finish.

Clean, crisp with a good balance of honey and mango. Thought the peppery finish was a ill strong. Sure if paired with the proper protein would have been much better.

Draft at Barcade Jersey City. Pours pale pale gold with no head. Sweet honey, mango, apple juice, flowery notes, a nice medium sweetness in the finish, and just a hint of tartness. Good stuff.

Pours a nice orange copper color with a finger of fizz that settles quickly. The nose is a bit of spicy honey and mango. The palate follows the nose with a perfect balance of mango fruit, honey sweetness and peppery spice on the mid palate and late finish. Everything is dialed in and very tasty ! Well done.

I really have no good idea how to rate this. First mead I’ve ever tried. I liked it quite a bit as the mango played with the wine character in the same sense that a really sweet Chardonnay would have tropical fruit flavors. The pepper was interesting but I’m not sure how I liked the feeling on my palate afterwards.

A cursory glance of my ratings will show that I am not the biggest fan or even rater of Mead, but this one is fantastic, with excellent hints of black pepper against a sweetness that is distinctly mango without being overbearing. I really love dried mango so this was perfectly up my alley and I wasn’t disappointed.

Pours light from a bottle . Sweet aroma, . Very week in flavor, taste like a mead/ beer mix.
