Many years ago, a mysterious book was discovered by a group of friends in a Ferndale, MI basement. A translation of its contents revealed the recipe for an ancient beverage using mango juice, honey, and black pepper. What they didn’t realize was that creating the beverage had dire consequences. Stricken by fear after its compleation, the friends tried to contain the terrifying forces into this very bottle. Once opened, however, no one can say for sure if it can be conquered. Süßlicher Antrunk, milde Honignoten, in dem hintergründig leichte Pfeffernoten erkennbar sind. Stärker ist aber die konstante Süße, süffig, Noten vom Apfel. Gut! 7/11/9/10/11/9

Draft - Peppery, mango and a light sweetness. Very pale yellow gold with a small white head. Sweet, black pepper, sweet mango and a long peppery finish. Interesting.

2014.08.08 - B. Nektar Necromangocon - from bottle. Not going to do a breakdown review but does what it says on the bottle. It’s mango-y and pepper-y. It’s an interesting flavor combo and works pretty well. A tad too heavy on the pepper for my palate but not bad.

Keg at the Cask, 05/07/14. Clear pale yellow with no head. Nose is pissy, parma violet, dung heap, honeycomb. Taste comprises much the same, black pepper well evident. Sweet close with a pinch of spice.

Pale golden pour. Aromas of mango, honey. And a touch of white pepper. Flavor is mango and honey all the way. Finish is sweet with just a pinch of white pepper. Slight pepper spice lingers on the palate after you take a sip. Very interesting. Another solid mead from B. Nektar.

2014-07-08. Crisp pale yellow body, headless. Aroma is fruity, mango, lots of fruit. 7+ Flavour is similar, sweet, lots of mango, sweet honey core. Average bodied palate, no carbonation. simple but quite fruity. Enjoyment will likely vary with your appreciation for mango. Bottle, Tasting at cgarvieuk’s, Edinburgh

On tap @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2014. Crystal clear looks on this, almost like a pale cider in the glass. No head what so ever. Smells like sugar syrup added some honey and lots of wood juiced from birch wood. Quite summery aroma and there’s also some apples. Nice enough really. Strange tasting. As good as flat with a thin oily mouthfeel. Like drinking wood juices also. Some floral spices, green grass, lemons and apple juice. Strange but interesting. 02.05.2014

Pale gold pour. The aroma and flavor are very nice. I get some strong mango and white pepper notes, as well as some honey and a hint of alcohol. Nice mead.

Keg at CASK. It pours very pale gold. The nose is sweetish, peppery, dried mango, light florals, melon, honeysuckle and honey. The taste is sweet, light fruity tang, apple, melon, pear, mango and honey with a dry finish. Light-medium body, light carbonation and slightly oily mouth-feel. Quite subtle and quaffable. Pretty tasty.
