Many years ago, a mysterious book was discovered by a group of friends in a Ferndale, MI basement. A translation of its contents revealed the recipe for an ancient beverage using mango juice, honey, and black pepper. What they didn’t realize was that creating the beverage had dire consequences. Stricken by fear after its compleation, the friends tried to contain the terrifying forces into this very bottle. Once opened, however, no one can say for sure if it can be conquered. Smells like candy. Quite sweet...like pixie stix. Some mango. Strong soda taste. Not getting any black pepper. Thx Anthony.

bottle. Deep golden with minimal head. Mild honey sweetness. Light mango, but more watered down than I expected. Spicing from peppercorn comes through well. Medium dry finish.

My first Mead. POurs brilliant clear, like honey yellow, with no head. Aroma with notes of mango, honey and of black pepper. Flavor is similar fruity, honey sweet, with notes of mango, honey and black papper, ordered in a written order. Dangerously drinkable.

UPDATED: SEP 19, 2015 As a session mead, looks pale and nearly clear as it’s poured, but the aroma is instantly pleasant. As one of the most unique meads, beers or ciders I’ve ever had, it will be memorable. Light and refreshingly unique, I thought for such a light beverage bthe pepper, honey and mango were expertly balanced, and surprisingly went very well together.

Tap @Fermentoren Aarhus. Pours clear, almost white, with a fizzy, tiny head. Aroma: honey, white pepper, svømmehal, mango, overripe mango. Taste is sweet tart, very fruity, more medium ripe mango. Tiny spicy and slightly dry finish. High carb, light but still sticky body.

Bottle. Pours a very pale yellow with a lot of fizzy carbonation at first that dies down to nearly nothing in short order. Aromas are sweet (almost like pear juice) with a little hint of pepper. Flavor is sticky and sweet with a zing of carbonation and pepper on the tail end. I thought it was carbonation at first, but now I’m thinking it is pepper... Not really my thing I guess...

Tap at the source. Pours pale yellow, no head. Aroma is lemon, mango, pepper. Flavor is intense mango with a follow-up pepper that’s really prominent and balances perfectly.

Bought at Lizardville...snifter at home. Pours a golden orange with no real head or lace. Aroma is honey, honey sickle, white pepper, tropical fruits. The taste was mostly honey and tropical fruits with a finish of white pepper. Little carb. Some spriteness.
