COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Many years ago, a mysterious book was discovered by a group of friends in a Ferndale, MI basement. A translation of its contents revealed the recipe for an ancient beverage using mango juice, honey, and black pepper. What they didn’t realize was that creating the beverage had dire consequences. Stricken by fear after its compleation, the friends tried to contain the terrifying forces into this very bottle. Once opened, however, no one can say for sure if it can be conquered. Smells like sugary mango almost candy like. It has a tropical mango taste. With a creamy middle feel. With a slight peppery finish and a little carbonation on the tongue. Definitely different.

Keg at the Cask, 05/07/14. Clear pale yellow with no head. Nose is pissy, parma violet, dung heap, honeycomb. Taste comprises much the same, black pepper well evident. Sweet close with a pinch of spice.

Pale golden pour. Aromas of mango, honey. And a touch of white pepper. Flavor is mango and honey all the way. Finish is sweet with just a pinch of white pepper. Slight pepper spice lingers on the palate after you take a sip. Very interesting. Another solid mead from B. Nektar.

2014-07-08. Crisp pale yellow body, headless. Aroma is fruity, mango, lots of fruit. 7+ Flavour is similar, sweet, lots of mango, sweet honey core. Average bodied palate, no carbonation. simple but quite fruity. Enjoyment will likely vary with your appreciation for mango. Bottle, Tasting at cgarvieuk’s, Edinburgh

On tap @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2014. Crystal clear looks on this, almost like a pale cider in the glass. No head what so ever. Smells like sugar syrup added some honey and lots of wood juiced from birch wood. Quite summery aroma and there’s also some apples. Nice enough really. Strange tasting. As good as flat with a thin oily mouthfeel. Like drinking wood juices also. Some floral spices, green grass, lemons and apple juice. Strange but interesting. 02.05.2014

Pale gold pour. The aroma and flavor are very nice. I get some strong mango and white pepper notes, as well as some honey and a hint of alcohol. Nice mead.

Keg at CASK. It pours very pale gold. The nose is sweetish, peppery, dried mango, light florals, melon, honeysuckle and honey. The taste is sweet, light fruity tang, apple, melon, pear, mango and honey with a dry finish. Light-medium body, light carbonation and slightly oily mouth-feel. Quite subtle and quaffable. Pretty tasty.

Cask at CASK Pub and Kitchen, Pimlico. Very light yellow. Aroma is overwhelmingly black pepper, with a bit of slightly overripe papaya. Taste is a simple sweet/sour, with pepper spiciness dominating the finish and aftertaste. Incredibly odd. But tasty.

Keg at Cask P&K. Totally still and clear, just a touch of yellow / green colour under the dim lights here, no head. Aroma is lime, plughole. Body is medium, pretty spritzy. Taste is very sweet. Bubblegum, cherry cola bottle sweets, cheap white wine or Lambrini. Not getting much mango. A sugar lover’s dream.

Keg at cask pub and kitchen 5th birthday. Aroma is big black peppercorn. Rustic honey. Flavour is sweet lightly spicy peppercorn, and slight green apple. Palate is light sweet with moderate carbonation. Lingering spices and fruit. These mini meads are a bit lacking.

Bottled. Poured clear, straw golden with just a small amount of rising carbonation. The aroma picked up lots of mango upfront, and that paired well with semi-sweet honey.. floral notes and a fresh hit of black pepper on the back of the nose.. very nice. The flavor found sweet mango and clover honey at the core with more acidic mango, black pepper, and dry oak around.. moderately tart on the finish, mostly carrying through mango and oak. Light-medium bodied with very low carbonation.. dry, well-balanced, and engaging.
