Many years ago, a mysterious book was discovered by a group of friends in a Ferndale, MI basement. A translation of its contents revealed the recipe for an ancient beverage using mango juice, honey, and black pepper. What they didn’t realize was that creating the beverage had dire consequences. Stricken by fear after its compleation, the friends tried to contain the terrifying forces into this very bottle. Once opened, however, no one can say for sure if it can be conquered. 3rd Noble Beer Sangha: From bottle, thanks to Brian, pours golden, orange with no head. Mild sweet, fruity aroma. Flavor is honey, vaguely fruit (not mango, or tropical really) with distinct white pepper flavor running in tandem, with welcome slight warming finish. Medium body, somewhat oily soft texture. Intriguing but not hugely complex.

Tap at Fermentoren, Århus. Pale yellow body. Sweet and fruity honey aroma. Sweet taste with fruity acidity. Spicy peppery flavour. Medium body with soft carbonation. Peppery finish. A rather unusual mead for me, but tasty nonetheless. It is lighter and more drinkable than most Danish meads, and also the first carbonated mead I have tried.

Sampled at AIBF 2015. From tap, clear gold with no head. Aroma with massive fruit notes, some honey and grass. Taste is semi dry with a fruity touch followed by a sharp strain that intensifies. Little too much of the pepper for me, otherwise a nice mead.

bottle. Deep golden with minimal head. Mild honey sweetness. Light mango, but more watered down than I expected. Spicing from peppercorn comes through well. Medium dry finish.

My first Mead. POurs brilliant clear, like honey yellow, with no head. Aroma with notes of mango, honey and of black pepper. Flavor is similar fruity, honey sweet, with notes of mango, honey and black papper, ordered in a written order. Dangerously drinkable.
