Skyview (4007), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Nov 4, 2009 Sampled during Great Taste of Midwest ’09 in Madison, Wisconsin. Pours a still riesling colored mead with a clean disk top and large viscosity tears inside the glass. Aroma of mild flower (typical of orange blossoms) sweet honey, a hint of vanilla and a touch of alcohol. Taste is sweet soft honey, vanilla and a hint of citrus juice. Finish is soft with some metallic background, with a short lived vanilla, sweet honey and citrus aftertaste. BDR (2139), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Aug 24, 2009 GTMW 09. A sweet honey aroma with a surprising amount of ctirus remaining from the honey. A little vanilla in there as well from the oak. Sweet and slightly thick with a flavor much like the aroma. meadjudge (1), USA does not count Mar 17, 2009 After my inital excitement to try mead for the first time, I was suprised at how little of the orange flavor was present. I was also disappointed to find out that B Nektar does not have their own bees. It seems like in a world where out sourcing materials such as raw honey is risky, they would take more pride and produce their own honey. Overall, I am still encouaged by their creativity to try new flavors and look forward to trying additional flavors.
