Sample at B Nektar Meadery. Translucent pale yellow with no head. Aroma of honey, orange and oak. Taste s heavy on the honey with some vanilla and orange/citrus notes as well. Finishes up hot and sweet.

My bottle reads 12.5 abv, not 14, pours almost clear, has a slight golden hue, legs are so so.aroma is mostly just sweet honey, floral, pretty simple. Taste is sweet honey, subtle orange hints, and a little vanilla in the background from the oak. Its ok but its just real simple

Bottle. Nose is alcohol, some strong honey and light orange notes. Vanilla and oak. Very strong alcohol aroma. Body is clear light yellow with fine bubbles all around the glass. Taste is medicine, alcohol, vanilla, light and I mean very light orange, and more alcohol. Pretty hot (wasabi style hot). Not my favorite from B.Nektar, though, it’s not that bad. The orange notes are very subdued all the way throughout. Overall, this is a very underwhelming mead but still pleasant.

Bottle shared with some friends. Appearance is a very pale yellow with no foam. Aroma is lightly orangy with a nicely sweet honey presence. Finish is long and sweet.

Medicine-like honey, orange, and a little wood in the aroma. Flavor is sweet and fruity. Some flowery notes and alcohol in the aftertaste. Good mead, but not my favorite.

Pours an almost clear pee colored yellow. Nose and taste have an initial boozy punch that reminds me of sake. Definitely getting an orange flavor- think the taste of the white stuff on the inside of the rhine if you scraped it off with your teeth. A nice sweet honey ending. It’s both sweet and dry. Good, but not great. Splitting this with the Mrs, if her allergies hold up it was worth the $14.99 for a 750ml bottle.

Very pale and slightly hazy. Attractive, very floral honey character with subtle orange notes. Very full body, very sweet honey character with light fruit and hints of orange. Good mead but not really a world beater. Needs more complexity for that.

Honey and menthol nose. Very pale yellow, still. Honey flavor, balanced, really middle of the road on the sweetness continuum. Alcohol is within acceptable levels.

Appearance: clear and pale – like a pinot blanc or sauvignon blanc. Small blanket of bubbles coat the bottom of glass.
Nose: delicate orange blossoms, honeysuckle blossoms – portrays a union of white blossoms from tree branches to a white blanket of blossoms atop a field of green grass. Hint of pulped apples. Heaviest in the middle where honey, still subtle, is most prominent.
Palate: sweet, smooth, and silky, the silky mouthfeel carries the orange blossom petals from front to back. Lingers longest atop middle of the tongue. Apple pulp in the breath – fresh without the bitterness of apple skin. Gentle mouth-coating. Slow glow of warmth in chest.
Final Thoughts: a clean mead highlighting its proud namesake, the Orange Blossom. A bit unassuming which I found was part of its beauty.
