2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: OCT 31, 2014 Bottle: Thanks to Kevin for a taste. Pale straw, almost clear with no head. Aroma of strange wet oak, dirty and musty in a sense with quite a bit of sweet honey. Taste is sweet honey, light florals, and a bit of finishing, dry oak. Again, not much orange, if any... But maybe orange blossom honey isn’t supposed to taste like orange. Perhaps it’s referring to the color. Not bad, but B. Nektar makes way better stuff. This is a little bland.

750ml bottle. Pours light gold. Aroma and taste is undeniably orange blossom honey that has some sweetness cut by the oak.

Perfect intro to beer for the white wine lover. Similar to a dry pinot grigio, but with a hint of flowers and a sweeter aftertaste.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Appearance: Pale clear golden body, nice clarity and color.
Aroma: The aroma is faint, but smells sweet of hints of oranges and honey. Nice aroma, I’m glad it’s not overly pungent.
Taste: The flavor is sweet with honey and hints of citrus. After reading the description and seeing it’s aged on oak, I guess I can sort of pick of hints of caramel and vanilla, but I’m not sure I would have found it without knowing. I do get a hint of spice and oak, but it’s very subtle. The finish has some heat and lingering sweetness that sort of reminds me of PlayDoh.
Palate: Full-bodied, sort of juice like.
Overall: I enjoy this mead a lot, it’s what I’d give to someone if they’d never had mead. I find it pleasant, soft and easy to enjoy. Well done.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a clear yellow orange. Aroma has orange, oak and honey. Slightly floral. Taste is sweet, honey obviously taking the lead. Orange notes are nice and the woody characteristics give some depth. Like a sweet (sweeter) Pinot. Interesting.

Had at the Meadery, the aroma is light orange and honey. Pours a clear yellow/orange. The taste is light sweet honey. The body is light, the texture thin, the carbonation soft and the finish semi-long. Very good.

Sampled from bottle as a 4 oz pour at the 7venth Sun brewpub, Dunedin FL, on January 19, 2014.
Clear pear color, no head. Wood, sweet, alcohol, honey, some orange scent. Sweet, wood, alcohol taste. Alcohol, light raisin aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel, then dry. Leaves some oily legs on the glass, also some firey alcohol in the breath.

Didn’t care for this in the least bit. Had almost a rotten garbage type finish. A bit boozy.
