750 mL bottle from Lueken’s Oldsmar. Pours pale gold with a bubble or three. This baby has legs! Nose is fresh honey, a hint of chardonnay, and light fruits with alcohol. Flavor starts out a bit tart then works its way to fruit, honey, alcohol, and finishes wonderfully clean with a warming sensation in the stomach. Great mead!

GTMW 09. A sweet honey aroma with a surprising amount of ctirus remaining from the honey. A little vanilla in there as well from the oak. Sweet and slightly thick with a flavor much like the aroma.

Sampled during Great Taste of Midwest ’09 in Madison, Wisconsin. Pours a still riesling colored mead with a clean disk top and large viscosity tears inside the glass. Aroma of mild flower (typical of orange blossoms) sweet honey, a hint of vanilla and a touch of alcohol. Taste is sweet soft honey, vanilla and a hint of citrus juice. Finish is soft with some metallic background, with a short lived vanilla, sweet honey and citrus aftertaste.

Pours a nice very pale yellow hue. A few bubbles manage to come to the top and form a semi ring around the glass. Aromas are rich and sweet, very floral. The flavor is pure fresh honey right from the comb. Nice floral flavors that come off almost like sweet jasmine. A touch of tropical fruit and a dash of vanilla. Solid and drinkable. B. Hint of sweet citrus on the nose, orange blossoms, very floral nose. Pours a light gold, very clear. Smooth with floral citrus notes, nice body, with a sweet citrus flavor. Very drinkable.

750ml Bottle from Knightly Spirits, aroma is slight citrus, maybe vanilla, the taste is a little weak, not as sweet or citrus as expected. Very drinkable, a hit as a Thanksgiving dinner gift.

10/31/10. My first B Nektar mead... glad to have started trying these! Sample courtesy my new friends at Florida Microbev. Nice honey on the aroma with hints of orange, orange peel, and floral aspects. Sweet flavor with a nice honey character and floral orange citrus notes as well. Quite nice!

Had at the Meadery, the aroma is light orange and honey. Pours a clear yellow/orange. The taste is light sweet honey. The body is light, the texture thin, the carbonation soft and the finish semi-long. Very good.

my first mead experience. to me this is something to enjoy with a light sipping after a meal, perhaps. it’s similar to a wine, but a little thicker, and the honey REALLY shines through. the booze is well hidden. i can’t see myself ordering meads very often, but it’s pretty interesting.
