COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The mead is made with fresh pineapple, pineapple juice, sweetened and unsweetened coconut (slightly toasted), and orange blossom honey. This mead was made as a special test batch. Only 48 375ml bottles were made, and all of them were sold through Cork ’N Ale in Saginaw, MI. The employees at the store call this mead "god juice". The bottles from this small batch have no barcode on the label. A second batch was produced later in the year and can be found at locations on the B. Nektar website.

Bottle shared with my wife. Pours a clear gold. Soft pineapple, a touch of nutty coconut, sweet honey. Warm coconut, sweet pineapple. Nice alcohol warmth with a thick honey backbone. Quite smooth, easy drinking, lingering pineapple warmth into the finish. Spicy pineapple. Would be nice with a bit of chili pepper heat as well.

Bottle. Pours with a clear pale straw yellow with very strong legs. Aromas are strongly of toasted coconut, grass, sweet and floral pineapple, delicate honey, medium alcohol, tree bark, light cinnamon. Pineapple tannic bitterness. Flavors are sweet with a very strong balancing acidity, vanillin, almost an oak like toasted coconut character. Strong pineapple, both fresh and canned notes. Very tropical, medium tannin. Truly a piña colada flavor wise. Well balanced as such (sweet vs tannin vs acidity). Medium alcohol. Quite solid for an odd ball melomel.

This thing is intensely pineapple. I did not expect the pineapple to be so pungent but it was and its very interesting but i cant see myself drinking much of this. Coconut is timid and I wish there was more. Background honey is crushed by PINEAPPLE>

Sample at a meadfest, this one has a ton of pineapple flavors, then the coconut. Tastes like a piña colada

Bottle - pours yellow, aroma is pineapple with some coconut, taste is a more balanced blend of coconut and pineapple with some sweetness, nice med body. Really nice and a perfect drink for the blue skies of Florida.

375ml bottle purchased a way back... pours a golden hay like consistency, predominantly clear and trasparent, juice-like and coats the side of the glass and therefore somewhat leggy in appearance... aroma has more of a pineapple and corresponding juice influence that meshes well with a sweeter desert like honey. sacharine but not too the point of cloying and even a little heat on the backend. coconut would be a stretch as it is mostly if not entirely absent... flavors deviate very little from the nose with assertive pineapple and honey accents. sweet throughout although a light albeit noticeable bitterness on the backend to go alongside a firm sense of heat. parts of it come off as artificial dole pineapple juice but the touches of honey curtails that. body isn’t too big or cloying but the sweetness in this one goes a long way and the lightly dry bitter boozy finish helps out to boot. i enjoyed this but that comes from a pineapple fan.

Bottle From the perfect pour- pours a pale yellow, slightly cloudy. Big pineapple, alcohol, but not much coconut. It’s very tropical sweet, a bit syrupy. Not my favorite B. nektar mead, but not bad by any means.
