4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours a light yellow hue. Aroma is boozy, full of whiskey and oak. The flavor is big, rich, and bold. Loads of whiskey and barrel. There is a huge vanilla laden honey blast that helps to even out the boozy blast. This is a very big mead. Man do I love it though. I will savor every last drop in this bottle and look forward to consuming more. A top 10 all time mead for me.

Bottle shared at DLD 2013- who opened it? Can’t remember. Final rating of the day. Glad it was a light, summery palate cleanser. Pours a pale straw gold color. Honey for sure, with some grapes, vanilla, nuts, brown sugar, and whiskey warmth throughout. Full-bodied, with low carbonation and a sweet, chewy, boozy mouthfeel. Warms you up.

4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
# 2000. Sampled courtesey of Sebletitje – Thx! 375 ml. bright Neon Blue B. Nektar body with a wonderful label. Looks like white wine to me maybe a bit paler – any mention of head is mainly a matter of habbit – not even bubbles appear here upon pouring. Aroma is incredible, mellow honey and white wine goodness, oak, vanilla, sweet, white flowers, wild white flowers,… Taste is an incredible sweet, delicate wild flowers honey, white flowers, sweetness from charred oak whisky barrels – actually picking up more on that than the whisky which I mainly get because I know what to look for, oak , highest quality white sugar (that is not really a think but yeah,…), very light apples, this stuff reminds me of a beautiful field in spring, it is like drinking that, sweetness covers the booze, you feel the heat sliding down your throat, very warming, silk thin and silk slick body, creamy,… like summer. A wonderful treat for my 2000th rating. Thx! & to anyone who ever shared a beer with me etc.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle ($25.99). Paler yellow pour than expected. Straw hue, still, good clarity with extremely viscous legs. Aromas are spicy, waxy mildly fruity with brown sugar a good amount of vanillin and lactone. Cereal, nutty raisins, date sugar, pecans and rye whiskey. Pretty complex once you become accustomed to the alcohol. Flavors are big and alcoholic, bold raisin and mejhool dates, toasted coconut, dry rye whiskey tannins, alcohol. Complex nuttiness and honey. Sweet, but balanced by tannin and peppery alcohol. Pecan pie and whiskey. Full bodied, a lot if heat without being fusel. In your face. Complex but not subtle. I like it.

Big thanks to my sister (ratebeer’s 15_2_Kuhnhenn) for shipping me this bottle of joy and I’m thankful for the opportunity to share this with sebletitje, cheers Sebastian! The tall blue glass bottle pours with a pale gold colored body with the slightest of haze and leaving behind legginess like no other as it doesn’t seem to go away but the legs just stay there along the inside of the glass defying gravity, damn! The aroma is rich and inviting with a mix of smooth sweet honey, a nice honeycomb sort of sensation along with mild notes of wild flower. The end of the draw is a bit boozy with a light barrel of bourbon sense as well as a shot of boozy heat. The taste is so smooth and rich with sweet honey tempered by the mildly fruity sort of sweet candied wild flower, if that even makes the slightest bit of sense, and then slivers of pleasing earthiness that binds this together. It then picks up some smooth mildly sweet whiskey like notes heading into the finish. This is rich and yummy and I can sip this just all day long if I could get more. Wow!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Clear pour with a slight yellow tint. Huge tropical fruit, tons of vanilla, and a nice whiksey note. A touch of honey, nice floral notes, and some alcohol. Very nice sweetness and fruit character. The flavor has a great whiskey character to it with a lot of sweet vanilla and notes of oak. Peach, apple, pineapple, and maybe grape fruitiness. A touch of alcohol and a light honey note.

Bottle split with Ibrew2or3, thanks Dave.
