Pours a nice pale almost clear. Lots of bubbles rising to the top. Aromas of honey, light spice, and ginger. Flavor is nice and honey sweet up front. Hints of earty ginger in the middle with a bit of burn in the finish. As I sip I pick up some subtle fruit notes. Lots of ginger and lots of fizz. Almost soda like in taste. Not one I could pound but I do enjoy it. Unique and pretty darn tasty.

500 ml bottle from Veldrid- thanks again, Jeff! Pours a clear, pale yellow color with a big fizzy white head that settles into a ring. Rising carbonation bubbles the whole time, champagne-like. Aroma of ginger, honey, muddled herbs, and something that gives it the quality of hand soap or medicine- not major, but something keeping it from being open and crisp. Flavor of honey, ginger, mild apple/grape-like tartness, herbs- finishes with a lot of ginger. Medium-bodied, with carbonation that gets more aggressive with the ginger late, for an initially fruity and smooth and then fizzy and spicy mouthfeel. Different. Drinks almost like a ginger ale, albeit one with alcohol and a little more complexity. I liked this.

Tulip glass at Jackie O’s public house on 3/23/12. Clear light yellow white wine pour with a thin white head and mild carbonation. Aroma is ginger and lots of it, along with lemon and honey notes. Ginger flavor with some honey sweetness before a crisp finish. I know they used real ginger because it gave me heartburn. Worth it though; pretty tasty.

Sample at Kalamazoo Beer Exchange. Pours a clear pale yellow color with minimal head and slick legs. Aroma of sweet spices and malt. Medium body with a sweet ginger and honey character. Touches of fruit too. The finish is short and sweet with a mild ginger aftertaste. Pretty average overall.

Bottle. Pours a crystal clear slightly yellow color with a slight white collared head. Has a unique aroma, almost like noxima or something medicinal or herbal, must be the ginger. Slightly sweet start gives way to herbal like note and then back to a sweet note. This is an odd one, especially after just drinking Funky Monkey. It’s unique but not a mead I would want to have again really.

Burnt plastic aroma. I love ginger. Where is it in this mead? Some spiciness but overall tastes like a watered down ginger ale, and looks it too.

Draft. Poured clear pale color with fair legs. Medium floral honey aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture. Light to medium ginger honey sweet flavor with a light to medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Pleasing soft alcohol burn. Below average mead.

bottle thanks to ...ned. pours a slightly off clear color with some bubbles. smells sweet like soda and not much ginger to smell but some spiciness. taste is mild honey with a kick of ginger. overall sweet ginger alcoholic soda.

Bottle: The aroma consists of strong ginger, light clove...and urinal cakes. It pours a white gold with a minimal fizzy head that quickly fades leaving it looking almost still. The flavor starts with with a quick dose of sweet honey and apple. The finish has moderate-heavy ginger. It’s medium bodied with minimal carbonation. Overall, it tastes like a sweeter ginger ale, but the aroma is hard for me to get past.
