Devilishly bloody body, no head - blood wine. Incredible. Dank sacks of mild sweetness, blanket and dusty. Threads of clean bitterness, chutes of fruit sweetness and a dry trickle of grain. Sweet finish, smooth and clean. How this is a wine ABV ah dinnae ken.

Bottle at Craig’s. Pours hazy gold, thin white head. Aromas of stewed fruit and honey. Tastes brings more honey, apples and wood. Thin for 12%, but refreshing. Good.

Golden pour. The aroma has some great honey and cherry notes. Very nice overall. The flavor has a hint of bourbon and oak notes as well as some big, sweet honey and cherry. The alcohol is also very noticeable, but it goes very well with the other notes. Medium mouthfeel. Very nice mead.

Bottle that I took to Andy’s for New Years Eve. Pours a clear light pink with a thin white head. Big warming barrel, whiskey, soft cherries, a hint of vanilla. Medium-bodied, a touch of warming alcohol, cherries, nice vanilla. Whiskey on the finish with more cherry and wood. Really nice.

In short: A cloying fruity amber mead. Not my thing.
How: Bottle shared pre-HFFoFA 2013 tasting.
The look: Clear dark amber body with almost not head.
In long: Nose is brutally sweet, apple strudel, fruity pastries and such. Surprisingly not much alcohol heat emanates from the nose considering it is a 12% monster. In mouth this drink feels thick-syrupy, no surprise here. Taste is grossly sweet, sweet honey, sweet cherry pie, sweet apple pie, sweet everything. I did get light notes of wood but no rye and no whisky, just some wood. On the positive side, the booze was extremely well hidden. This mead is not my kind of sweetness fix, not at all, I found it somewhat gross actually. This mead name made me imagine NYPD officers with guns in hands trying to figure out which dudes with dirty old cloths and messed up hair are a zombies and which ones are Greenwich village hipsters.

Poured a reddish amber color with aromas of sweet honey, cherries and some whiskey. Flavors were subtle hone and cherry juice followed by a nice whiskey and oak flavor that after each sip left me wanting for more. This is dangerously delicious and I could drink this all day.
