Powerful stuff. Like zombie killer kicked up a notch. If you taste hard you can get a small hint of rye on the finish...... It’s pretty great.

Very good but strong mead. Great aroma and it tastes like the original zombie killer but with a bit more whiskey tinge to it.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
500ml bottle. Pours Reddish orange with mild carbonation. Aroma is heavy cherry and rye. Taste lives us to the "imperial" status...more cherry, more honey, more heat. Insanely drinkable.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Orange-red pour with no head. Aroma is cherries. Taste is sweet cherries, faint rye in the background. 12% alc. well hidden. It goes down too smooth actually.

Draft in a flight from notes. Deep red with no head. Strong, dark cherry aromas with some tannins. I didn’t get much barrel but it was smoother than Zombie Killer.

Pours a basically clear orange-blush color with some fizz that goes away completely. Some dripping alcohol legs all over the side of the glass. Nose involves Zombie Killer (cherry, apple, honey) with a fairly hefty vanilla oak presence, spicy rye whiskey, some orange zest, some flowery nectar. Quite sweet, fairly tart. Heavier, thick and syrupy, soft carb action, warm with alcohol, finishing sweet and tart. All things equal, I’d rather have the original, but for what they set out to do here, they nailed it. A tad overbearing with the alcohol, but that becomes half the fun as it drinks like a cocktail. Cool.

Really enjoyed the regular version of this one, was really looking forward to trying this one. Not as bright a pour, guess thats the barrels doing, but still a nice amber color with a quickly disappearing one finger head. Smells amazing with lots of cherries, oak and whiskey with some underlying sweetness. Taste is nearly identical with the cherries and warm bourbon dominating. Overall this is definitely one of the best meads I have ever had. I will definitely grab more next time I see it.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
(bottle - 500 ml) Amber pour with not much head. Huge cherry, honey and barrel notes in the aroma. Sweet cherry and honey at the start but then you definitely get the rye barrel aging. Lots of wood and vanilla notes that really round off the cherry flavor.
