Our most popular "gateway mead". Made with clover honey, shiraz grapes, and has a great wildberry flavor. Makes an excellent sangria. Serve alone, or mix with soda water, and add a lemon and lime.

Bottle at the Colorado Mead Tasting ’12, courtesy of Aaron. Thanks Man! Pour is deep purple/crimson with no head and good legs. Dry yeasty aroma, tannin, red wine, bread, dark fruits, and raspberries in the aroma. Taste is dark berries, red grapes, yeast, tannin, and biscuit with a dry, lingering finish and slight alcoholic burn. Mouthfeel is medium no carbonation. Very reminiscent of sweet merlot. My wife would love this one.

Wenig süßer Beginn, spritzige Fruchtnoten. Zwischenzeitlich sogar leicht säuerlich, dann wieder süßlich, nett, trocken, speziell. 8/9/9/9/11/9

Thin body. Very sweet taste. Wasn’t ready for that at first. Once I got used to the sweetness though, I really enjoyed it. Lots of honey flavor with plentiful cherry grape taste.

From notes. Tasted some time near the summer of 2012 from a corked bottle. Pours clear light ruby with no head. The nose is sweet and dominated by jammy vinous fruit, honey, and some alcoholic heat. The flavor is primarily sweet and jammy red wine with a nice hit of honey and heat. The body is full with some wine-like tannins and a long fruity berry finish.

Color is nice, very vivid red to purple blueberry hues. Nose is astringent, slightly boozy and a tough of grape and floral notes. Sweet taste, has a touch of cough syrup, I obviously am rated it without "adding soda water" which is how I drink mead. but it is a very concentrated fruit punch taste. not a fan.

Grape jelly nose, not terribly vinous, more like jelly. Clear maroon. Singular grape flavor. Alcohol evident, harsh mouthfeel. Ugh, I can’t believe I’m about to give B. Nektar a bad rating, but this a sweet, hot mess. Reminds me of MD 20/20. I’m so distraught.

Bottle. Clear deep red/purple liquid with small white head. Aroma of raspberries, red wine, cherries, strawberry, sweet alcohol, honey and sugar. Taste is medium sweet with notes of raspberries, blueberries, honey and sweet alcohol. Medium to full bodied with no carbonation. Really nice.

Bottle: Pours clear, deep, berry-red with a white ring of head. Honey, berry, apple aroma. Flavour is dusty-sweet honey, blackberry/cherry... Strong alcohol prescence. Dry, yet sweet...nice alcohol warmth. Good stuff.

The aroma is berries, honey and wine. Pours a darker red, clear. The taste is sweet. The body is light, the texture thin and the carbonation soft, the finish long. Very good, not as much alcohol as the other B. Nektar Meads.
