Zombie Killer Cherry Cyser is made with Michigan tart cherry juice, apple cider and star thistle honey. It is sweet but balances nicely with the tart cherries. Be careful...it is extremely addicting and refreshing. Serve cold...Zombies hate the cold!

500ml bottle from Mikkeller webshop. Pours a clear orangey salmon pink colour, shortlived white foam head and aroma of honey, sweet apple, cherry marzipan note. Taste is sweet, honeycomb, fruity apple & cherry, light woody. Slightly syrupy mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, quite clean finish with some lingering light cherry. Nicely drinkable.

Cloudy orange color, thin white head that quickly disappeared. Aroma of cherries, apple and some tartness. Taste is... wow... honey, apples, cherries, wood. Nice combination of sweetness and sourness. Easy and very refreshing. I would drink this all day if I could.

Light orange and pink, and a bit hazy, but looks good. Smells like sweet cherries, and paired with some tart apple, this is definitely a nice drink. Finishes crisp with a bit of tart on the end. Really good!

Murky orange pour to this sweet fruit punch. I think it is what they were shooting for, bit to sweet for me.

Poured from a bottle into a flute glass. The appearance is clear with a dark gold color. The aroma is light, fruity, and not really sweet smelling. Fine bubbles give it a light mouthfeel. Taste is crisp and fruity, but not overly sweet like many meads. This is quite enjoyable and could easily be sessionable.

Paired with an episode of the Walking Dead. Bottle from a small liquor shop in Chicago near Wringley Field. Served in a stemmed glass. 6% the color is a pinkish hued gold with a wisp of white fizz as a head that vanishes instantaneously. A bit wine like in the nose with honey, cherry, cinnamon, hints of apples and somewhat of a rose vibe to the aroma. Medium bodied, frikin’ delicious flavor - tart cherries, sour apples, cinnamon, honey sweet but with a zombie chomping bite to it. The best mead I’ve ever had and it makes me want to seek out more mead~! Damn this is good!

500 ml bottle purchased a year ago at Holiday Wine Cellar ($9.99). Pours an interesting pinkish-amber hue with a very thin layer of white-ish foam with champagne-like effervescence that quickly dissipates into nothingness. AROMA of both tart and sweet cherries, semisweet apple cider, with hints of sweet honey and spice. FLAVOR has much of the same with cherries at the forefront along with the apples and honey and spice more in the background. Really nice mixture and balance of the tart and the sweet, with the spice as a nice complement. I’m not very familiar with this style and seems to be at least as much cider as mead. Not particularly complex overall, but extremely quaffable and actually quite refreshing on a hot San Diego day in October. (455, 920)
