COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask: Special - JDW Autumn Festival 2011
Ingredients: Pale malt, Bobek, Cascade, and Citra hops.
This rarely seen beer has been brewed again especially for this Wetherspoon real-ale festival. It is a fruity, golden-coloured ale, with complex hop aromas, floral notes and a thirst-quenching bitterness.

JDW 2011 Autumn Festival. Pale gold beer with butterscotch aroma and powdery bittering hops. Drinkable but not great.

Hamilton Hall Spoons. Light haze on this pale gold beer. Short lived tidy white head. Light palate, semi dry. Semi crisp. A somewhat odd beer. Tart citrus, more lemon than orange and then unexpected smoky notes! Finishes dry and crisp with minerals, citrus orange and apple!! (Good apple). Messy but alright!

Hand pulled cask at The Moon on the Hill (JDW) Harrow. Gold with a thin white head. Dry malt and restrained fruity hops, only hinting at US origin. Disappointing.

Cask handful at Society Rooms Maidstone . Gold with slight haze. Lasting white head. Drank whilst listening to Bonny Tyler and is there a finer thing? Diacetyl and some earthyness. Some attic and although the condition is good i find the flavours unpalatable. Couldn’t finish a half and went back to the thornbridge brother rabbit.

Cask, The Benjamin Huntsman, Wetherspoon Ale Festival. Slightly off sour aroma, pepper and over ripe fruit battle for position. Subsequent sips mellow the strange flavour perhaps was off tonight.

Cask at The Crosse Keys, JDW, London. Pours clear yellow with a white head. Crispy straw nose, hints of citrus. Light sweet flavor, some corn and straw, an odd smoke note. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Bit more of this smokey malt character in the finish, some hay, a bit of zesty citrus. OK.

Cask, Last Plantagenet. Leicester. Golden with a thin foam. Aromas are lemon and spritzy yeast with green apple and woody notes. Light tinned pineapple juice (getting a lot of that lately) with caramel and honey (ditto). Flavours are lemon with dry biscuit and hints of honey with floral notes. Quite spicy and dry on the finish. OK.

Cask @ The Counting House JDW. Golden colour, good head. Mild cereal aroma. Dry biscuit citrus flavour, bitter aftertaste. A good golden ale.
