Cask (gravity dispense). Beer #14 at Cambridge Winter Beer Festival on 21 January 2011. Labelled as Winter Porter but I’d assume it’s the same stuff rebadged for the post Christmas period - same ABV. Deep reddish brown. No head. Very flat. Sweetish. Malt is more fruity than roasty. Middle of the road. Not much of a Christmas angle as far as I could judge. OK, but not in peak condition, I’d say.

Gravicask (Cambridge Winter Ale Festival 2010)
Floral, sweet blossoms, in the aroma. Quite thin palate for the strength. Carbonation low. Finish a littel sweet and sugary. Aroma and retronasals have lotes of light fruity esters. Easy to drink, apart from the sugar.

Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Very dark reddish brown. Ashy liquorice aroma. Sour dark chocolate taste with a warming touch of alcohol. Mid bitter finish. Very good.
