Cask conditioned handpump Coach & Horses Wellingborough. A hazy mahogany coloured beer with a whitish head and lacing. The aroma is fruity with bready malts and a hint of leather. Fruity and woody in the mouth. Predominantly malty and pretty decent.

Guest cask at the Pembury Tavern, London, on 18th September 2009. Copper coloured with thin, but lasting, white head. Malt and caramel notes and some delicate spice in the main kick(mainly mace and nutmeg); some floral hop and citrus. An interesting mouthfeel and finish in which all seems to evaporate rapidly leaving the mouth quite dry. I was not too keen on this aspect of the beer.

Cask in the wheat sheaf as Shefford D G. Alround rating: Brown bread sweetness, bit grainy, small treakle character, grassy hop is lightly bittersweet. Boring.

Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Amber with a small white head. Malt and some fruit in the aroma. Sweet malty taste, well hopped. A solid, decent bitter.
