Clear dark red brown color with a average, open and frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, chocolate, wood. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, wood, swet dark malt, chocolate. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat.

Cask (Hopbine, Cambridge)
Now this hits the spot! Richly roasted, but also slightly cakey aroma. Feels good in the mouth - smooth mouthfeel, and on swallowing leaves the mouth neither too sweet, not too dry. Carbonation low. A really rich roast in the taste, less cake there. Very sessionable, a very easy drinker. Dry, but not drying. Not entirely sure if/how this benefitted from the barrel ageing, as the normal one is absolutely lush fresh. But don’t get me wrong - I’d not turn down the chance to have this again!
