(Cask at Market Porter, Southwark, London, 23 July 2011) Golden/bronze colour with creamy, white head. Fruity nose with notes of peaches, biscuits and a touch of citrus. Malty, fruity taste with peaches, biscuity malt and a slightly grassy, citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Refreshing and quite nice.

Cask (handpump) at the Devonshire Arms, Cambridge on 27 July 2011. Hazy gold appearance. Thin white head. Lively condition. Slightly grainy aroma with a touch of butterscotch. A little sharp on the palate. Some chewy fruit. A sprinkling of late tangy citric hops. Didn’t seem in the in the greatest shape to me - maybe a little tired. Flagged for re-rate.

UPDATED: AUG 23, 2010 Cask at the Wellington Arms, Bedford. Mid gold with a thin head. Faint hoppy aroma with increasing malt as it warmed. Wonderful fruity taste, possibly grape, with a little grass and a long-lasting bitter aftertaste. Could go on drinking this all day. 23.8.10 Same location. Four years on I found the taste rather dusty like an old dartboard. Rated:5,3,5,3,10:2.6

Clear amber color, no head. Something rich in the aroma is appealing--some honey, and it may be some alcohol but it may also be a certain fruitiness like strawberries soaked in vodka. But it isn't in the flavor, where there is just a bunch of malt, murky and lifeless in a slightly oily but flat mess. (on tap, Far From the Madding Crowd, Oxford)
