1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 Mungo (2472) - Southampton, - NOV 9, 2005
Cask conditioned @ Giddy Bridge(JDW), Soton. Unappetisingly unnatural red which I put down to food colourings. Slightly thin with grating bitterness and lightly tart finish. Some citrus aroma. Odd almost dusty chemical flaavour muting the other aspects.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 tombyars (1102) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - OCT 1, 2011
First tasted this in the Last Post, Paisley (JDW) in October 2000. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear pale amber in colour with a thin white head. Slight note of dusty hops in the short aroma. Thin mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts deliver a citric note of grapefruit and lemon peel. Strong hop resins give a dry aftertaste. Finish is dry but well balanced. An ok session bitter.

Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - Milton Keynes BF A light golden to straw coloured beer. A slightly buttery aroma which continues into the taste which features a little vomit. Just a hint of lemon hop
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 hughie (3992) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - NOV 1, 2008
Cask, gravity, at Milton Keynes BF ’08. Gold. Apple peel in the aroma. Pleasant fruity taste with the merest hint of honey sweetness. Mid bitter finish. Like all the beer at this festival, just a bit too warm for comfort. That’s my B&T beer #33
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 harrisoni (10069) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - NOV 11, 2005
Cask handpull at Wetherspoons, Folkestone. Clear red colour, but artificially red. No head to speak of. Yeasty hop bitter nose with acids in mouth and on end with some citric fruit and zesty hop. Don’t like the colour, but the rest of the bitter is pretty standard of this type.
3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20 SilkTork (4736) - Rochester, Kent, United Kingdom, WALES - NOV 10, 2005
JDW, Rochester Red coloured. Pomegranate flavoured. Pleasant enough.
3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 MesandSim (7109) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 7, 2005
A Mes rate:
Red. VERY red. Looks for all the world like a kriek but there is no fruit in there. Yeasty nose that if I am honest is not too great but don’t let that put you off. Drinks very much like a mild and there is hardly any carb in there at all. Not sure what to say really, it is very restrained all round. Plenty of hops followed by a creamy and slightly fruity (oh there’s the fruit) finish. Not bad at all. Worth a drink if only for it being such an amazing colour for the style.
