2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 imdownthepub (7461) - Banbury, - DEC 20, 2003
Cask Conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Amber to brown beer, little head. A toffee sweet malt beer, sludgy body with a few grainy high notes. The trauma? is that Wetherspoons probably have ruined this somewhat, I await other ratings of this.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 tombyars (1102) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - OCT 1, 2011
Tasted this in Blackfriers, Glasgow in December 2007. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear russet red in colour with a thin creamy white head. Sweet malt in the nose and a smooth mouthfeel. Good lacing throughout. Pale malts deliver a fiery digestive malt base with juicy raisin fruit evident. Metallic hop resins impart a dry aftertaste. A good balanced session ale.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Fin (5749) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - JAN 9, 2011
Cask, handpull at The Swan & Castle, JDW, Oxford 08.01.11 This was really quite smokey in the mouth although the aroma didn’t suggest that it we be like this. Amber in colour with a slight haze. In the mouth there is some bitterness to support the smokiness, aroma a touch clinical/chemical though in fairness it seemed to be served in pretty good nick as did the Mordue beer I also had. It’s fine but not as good as the Mordue Headmasters Xmas sermon. A5 A3 T7 P3 Ov12 3.0
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 DruncanVeasey (5138) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - JAN 5, 2011
Cask handpull, The Felix Holt (JDW), Nuneaton. Blonde with a thin white layer. Negligible lemon wine gum and herbal hop snout; taste apricot jam, weak grassy hop, rauchmalt with tea and dunked rich tea linger. Never had such a pale English beer with such a brazen Franconian beechwood note. But it works. Maybe my tongue’s playing tricks on me- nobody else has mentioned it. Clean, odd and tasty.

Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford, where B&T beers are always served in top condition. Earthy malt aroma. Sweet fruit and malt taste with a slight bitter finish. Not particularly Christmassy, but a delicious, easy drinking beer. Gobbling Good Ale, as the pumpclip declares.
