Lahev (diky, Quack-Ducku !): Clear, amber coloured, mid-sized, a bit lacy off-white head; robust sweet toasted-malty nose with a bitter-hoppy touch and an alcoholic tinge; medium to full sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied; bittering hops in the very sweet finish. Not that bad, but rather sweet..............

Mein erster Doppel-Doppel Bock! Helle Bernsteinfarbe, die Schaumkrone hält nicht gut. Der Geruch ist süß-caramel-alkoholisch, riecht wie viele Hochprozentige Niederländische Zuckerbiere. Der Mischmasch zwischen süße und Alkohol ist im Geschmack unangenehm und brennt ganz leicht im Rachen. im Nachgeschmack ist es ausserdem etwas bitter-alkoholisch. Fazit: Nicht soo toll. Der Name hört sich interessant an, aber das ist vermutlich für die meisten Leute der einzige Anreiz es zu kaufen ich werde es nicht wieder kaufen und kann mir auch nicht vorstellen das dies viele tun die es probiert haben.

Dark red hazy , little cloudy , white head. Aroma: grass, hay, dough. Palate medium full, carbonation fizzly medium. Aftertaste slick, oily. Finish little dry sweet caramel. ABV quite subtle for 10.

Amberkleurig. Ruikt naar bruin brood en iets fruitigs. Smaakt een tikkie zoetig in het begin met een droog bittere afdronk die uitnodigt tot een volgende slok. Het is een halve liter doppel- doppelbock met 10 % alcohol dus die trekt behoorlijk door. Niet slecht als je snel en goedkoop de knollen gaar wilt hebben ; )

Bereits im Antrunk ist das Bier intensiv süß-alkoholisch aber nur mittelwürzig. Im Mittelteil malziger, dies wird von der Süße übertönt. Nach dem ersten Schluck schüttelt es mich, wirklich lecker ist das nicht. Nun weiter: Die Süße weicht nicht, die Malzigkeit dehnt sich etwas aus. Das Bier beginnt hier etwas zu brennen. Die Süße wird penetrant, breitet sich aber trotzdem weiter aus. Brennend süß-malziger Abgang, klebrig. Das Ganze entledigt sich jeglicher Aromen, hier will man nur mit Alkohol punkten. Balance kann man dem Bier eindeutig nicht attestieren, auch sonst schmeckt es nicht besonders gut, zu drückend ist die alkoholische Süße. Aperitif. Danke an quack-duck für das Bier. Bottle. Amber with a thin head. Aroma of plum with sweet malt. Flavour is strong warming wine notes with alcohol in the background.

Bottled. Clear brass colour with a medium-sized, beige foamy head. Sweet malty nose. Aroma is sweet, biscuits, malts and a bit of hops. Quite full bodied with a tender carbonation. The alcohol is present but well-hidden. To sweet at the end, otherwise very nice.

Well, another one to be drunk in careful quantities... Nice firm head, coppery amber in colour, soft carbonation. Aromas of cinnamon gum, strawberry sirup, a little clover, cocoa and lime. Taste is sirupy-sweetish, but also alcoholically bitter in a surprisingly smooth way. Not the most subtle of beers, but since it goes for an absolutely reasonable price, I’d say I might come back to it some time or other.

Labeled as Doppel-Doppel Bock, therefore the World’s first Quadruple Bock from this Czech brewer. On the back label there is a a German designation "helles" = "pale" added to the beer’s denomination. 500 ml, BB date reads 10. June 2011. Pour into tulip results in deep golden to coppery/amber body a with good clarity provided by lagering, topped by short, frothy off-white head that slowly recedes to a stable cloth. Aroma is strong malt with some melanoidins and toasty notes, caramel sweetness, plum & grape-like fruitiness from the malts used and evident alcohol. The flavor is strong malt with a rich caramel sweetness, warming, slightly burning alcohol and toward the finish prominent hoppy bitterness with a spicy touch probably originating from noble hops. Tends to coat the lips with a sweet film and although on the sweet side still gives an impression of attenuation. The body is medium-full with moderate carbonation. In short: A sweet-bitter and alcoholic Doppelbock.
