2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20Bottle bought in Germany, labeled as Breznak Berstein 5.1%abv. Very dark amber colour, hazy, medium tanned head, retained some lacing. Had an initial malty aroma which gave way to Saaz. Tasted malty and slightly Saazy. Finish was long and roasted. Moderate carbonation, body was slightly thick, texture sticky. Basically this was normal Breznak with some colouring/sweetner addded, highly forgetable.

As Bernstein. Dark copper colour with a white head. Aroma is wort, malt, caramel. Flavour is wort, malt, caramel, hop. Sweetish.

Bottle. Mostly clear dark reddish brown color with a thin light brown head. Aroma of caramel with coffee and some roastiness. Flavors are coffee and roasted malt with some chocolate. Dry texture.

Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Sweet aroma. Starts malty and sweet, almost like sugar. Finish with more hoppy notes, a bit more balanced. But all in all too sweet for me.

08/03 It poured brown body with medium sized head. Caramel aroma, also grainy and pretty boring for that. Caramel flavor, slightly roasted malty like coffee, but I found also some unpleasant metallicity in it. Medium body with caramel grainy metallic finish. Not really good beer, actually I’m bothered with some unpleasant notes in it. Crappy Vienna.

From somewhere in Berlin. Brown, slightly reddish body with a medium sized white head. Grainy dark bready nose, sweetish. Dry, slightly roasty caramelly dry tasty. Ok, but not more than that.

At an kaufland in aachen germany, bottle 500ml, nice spicey with lots of grain and hop, fully almost sirupy one, gentle in his kind.

UPDATED: MAY 15, 2009 Bottle. Labeled Alt Böhmisch Bernstein. ABV 4,8 %Pours clear dark amber with a moderate off-white creamy head. Strong dark malty aroma. caramel. Semi sweet in the taste department, gentle velvety mouthfeel, dark malt in the front seat, not allowing the fine hops to come fully through, leaving a sweet aftertaste as well.
