COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In Germany beer id sold as Breznak Schwarzbier.
A secret weapon of Drinks Union, a beer of delicious taste, clear smell and typical colour. The drinker will be surprised by its pleasant taste, less sweet than with other dark beers. The dark Breznak won the most prestigious beer contest - Golden Cup PIVEX ´98.

A dark, yet somehow clear beer with a slightly brown layer of foam A somewhat sweet aroma of roasted malt and/or grain. It has a "bitter-chocolate" like taste, but is furthermore "watery". A somewhat bitter aftertaste, but doesn’t last long.

0,5 lt bottle courtesy of a German colleague. Pours black with a tick creamy light brown foam. Nose of light coffee aroma, herbal digestive. Mouth is weak...some roasted coffee feel, high carbonation, watery feel. I have not picked where this beer stands! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

500ml bottle @ the 5th Shrewsbury Bottle share, courtesy of Blackhaddock down there. Pours black with an extremely mild, thin taste and weak alcohol even for a 3.8%. Thin roasts, soft toffee nose, quickly turning watery. Shame really as I usually love a good fresh Schwarzbier.

0.5 Litre bottle: BBD 8/8/14, brought back from Berlin and one of my offerings at the May Shrewsbury Bottle swap, shared between four of us. Sadly it did not fair well in my eyes: like so many beers in this style it flatters to deceive, looking and smelling impressive and then failing to deliver in the flavour stakes. This poured a dark cola colour with a semi-sweet malty nose, the body however was thin and the taste had a weak roasted malt feel to it and not much else. Glad I shared it because I’m not sure I could have drank the whole bottle to my self.

Bottle. Deep black in colour wth a lingering brown head, beautiful. Aromas are roasty, malty, dark chocolate, nice. Taste is dry, metallic, bitter, finishs with roast aromas and bread, dark chocolate. Palate is typically flat, with a full body and a oily texture. Good classical Schwarzbier, for the ones who like it less sweet.

500 mml Bottle tasted on 29/04/2014. Clear black colour with a beige head. Roasted malts and brown sugar taste. The flavour is not balanced at all. Light alcohol and light carbonation. Next one please!

Shared a 50cl bottle from Trinkgut (Wittlich). Pours a clear deep brownish black colour with a small tan head that quickly vanishes. Aroma is roasted, liquorice, caramel and malty. Soft to average carbonation and light to medium body. Taste is more bitter than sweet with a dry finish. Overall, a very drinkable beer.

Bottle 0,50L. Dark brown, almost black beer with small light brown head, thet dissipate in a minute. Strong aroma of coffee, chocolate, roasted malts, caramel and nuts. Watery mouthfeel with light bitter taste and long lasting aftertaste. This is good dunkel, although it has only 3,8% alcohol.

Bottle on the train from Nuremberg to Bamberg - the final hurdle, Bamberg post Xmas jolly day 1 - 24/01/14. As Breznak Schwarzebier. Extremely dark mahogony brown with a good sized light tan head - a fairly handsome beer appears before me! Nose is cardboard, light brown sugars, faint toffee, earthy, thin aromas. Taste comprises grain, dark toffee, faint cocoa, earthy. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying finale. Ok.
