Sold in Germany as Breznak Schwarzbier.
A secret weapon of Drinks Union, a beer of delicious taste, clear smell and typical colour. The drinker will be surprised by its pleasant taste, less sweet than with other dark beers. The dark Breznak won the most prestigious beer contest - Golden Cup PIVEX ´98.

Shared a 50cl bottle from Trinkgut (Wittlich). Pours a clear deep brownish black colour with a small tan head that quickly vanishes. Aroma is roasted, liquorice, caramel and malty. Soft to average carbonation and light to medium body. Taste is more bitter than sweet with a dry finish. Overall, a very drinkable beer.

UPDATED: FEB 17, 2015 Bottle 0,50L. Dark brown, almost black beer with small light brown head, that dissipate in a minute. Strong aroma of coffee, chocolate, roasted malts, caramel and nuts. Watery mouthfeel with light bitter taste and long lasting aftertaste. This is good dunkel, although it has only 3,8% alcohol.

Bottle on the train from Nuremberg to Bamberg - the final hurdle, Bamberg post Xmas jolly day 1 - 24/01/14. As Breznak Schwarzebier. Extremely dark mahogony brown with a good sized light tan head - a fairly handsome beer appears before me! Nose is cardboard, light brown sugars, faint toffee, earthy, thin aromas. Taste comprises grain, dark toffee, faint cocoa, earthy. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying finale. Ok.

Bottle shared by my dad who brought this from holiday last summer. Black color, medium to full sized tan head. Aroma is malts, roasted malts, caramel. Tastes about the same: malts, roasted malts, caramel, slightly leaves, raisins, dried fruits, lightly bitter. Decent body, decent carbonation.

Rating from 3.3.2008: Der Geruch ist schön malzig-karamellig.

Goed biertje.
