Kolsvart med mellan skum som ligger kvar en stund! Väldigt smaklös och lättdrucken!

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
500 ml bottle, bought in Germany as Breznak Schwarzbier. Poured into a lager glass at home. ABV is only 3.8%
very dark brown colour on the body, could pass as almost black too. Two full fingers of beige head, low retention until it drops to maybe half a finger, at which point stays there for quite some time. Webs of light lacing left around the glass.
Aroma of roasted malts, with nice chocolate notes.
Taste follows the aroma, but both the roasted malts and the chocolate are more weak than the aroma leads you to believe, mainly because they are covered by a light metallic flavour. Good bitterness on the aftertaste though.
Medium to full body, very carbonated. Very dry on the palate.
Overall, not that bad, could be better with less carbonation and more intense flavours.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Pours cloudy dark brown with airy light tan head. Clear aroma of hops with malty touches. Malty, slightly roasty flavour, ending on a slightly bitter note. Dry aftertaste. Tastes nearly like Schwarzbier rather than a Dunkel. Ok.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Black with a good tanned head.
Aroma is of roasted malts and coffee, but like when the coffee is burning.
Flavour is lighter, some roasted malts and some coffee.
It is really watery, this beer needs more body.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
50cl bottle - Pivovar velke Brezno aka Breznak Schwarzbier. - Not half bad for a watery easterly porter of only 3,8% ABV, but given that a freshly poured Guinness also gets away with 4,0%, the watery translucent black body combined with a beige foamy head and metallic aftertaste make this into a raher twisted and ultimately dull affair. In between those two, there is attempt at slightly roasted and aroma’s and sweetish-fruity tastes for as much as this low an ABV and hop extract willl buy you, and the result, as said is drinkable. Memorable only because this unexpectedly came my way. Who drinks a Schwarzbier anymore these days, anyway? Label says "Schankbier": the pub is emptying out, dirty dishes in the back, candles all burned down, playing cards floating in the Schankbier mugs...
