Sold in Germany as Breznak Schwarzbier.
A secret weapon of Drinks Union, a beer of delicious taste, clear smell and typical colour. The drinker will be surprised by its pleasant taste, less sweet than with other dark beers. The dark Breznak won the most prestigious beer contest - Golden Cup PIVEX ´98.

Bottle 50cl at Kaufland Offenbug DE. A brown ale with good head and very nice lacing. Smell in on caramel malt. Aroma is fantastic on dry dark chocolate, good hop presence, finish is long with dark chocolate and bitter coffee. Very pleasant and drinkable beer, quite dry, amazing chocolate aroma for a low alcohol beer like this, very good surprise. Near to some Irish stouts just less creamy.

Bottle 500ml. Pours a dark brown color with a medium brown head. Malty aroma, some coffee, caramel, chocolate. Not too sweet. Medium to low carbonation. Quite well-balanced, smooth and almost no bitterness here. Not outstanding, but good.

Bottle of Breznak Schwarzbier from Bierkoning. Dark amber body with healthy head. Nice malty nose. Malty taste, not so sweet indeed. Gets roastier and spicier in the finish. Quite watery, with a smooth texture.

On tap at the "3rd Czeh Beerfestival", Budapest. Dark brown colour, creamy beige head. Smell of coffee. Flavour was of coffee, too. The aroma was of roasted malt and grassy hops with light yeasty notes in the back. Finish was coffeebitter and dry. Nice one.

05/03 0.5 l bottle, as Schwarzbier. It poured dark brown body with medium sized brownish head. Coffee aroma, some slight caramel and pale malts. Caramel, coffee and slightly alcoholic flavor, bitterish. Weaker in body with shorter, watery finish. Not bad, just ordinary and rather boring Schwarzbier.

Bottle@Home, 3.8% ABV. Strange how people rate low ABV beers low. Somehow there’s a connection? This is a very good beer. Not exceptionally good but it has a lot for a beer with only 3.8% ABV. It’s flavorful, balanced and has quite some body. I loved it.

Purchased at Haupfmans in Hombruch, Germany. Thought the bloke looked a bit like Lenin so I picked this up. Pours a dark color colour with a small head. Nose is sweet with burnt malts, and apples. Taste is cola flavoured, sweet though not cloying. Roasted malts, apple, sugar, clove and some chocolate dominate. Unbalanced and rather thin with no real bite.

As Breznak Schwarzbier, 3.8% I guess. Poured a very dark brown body with a medium sized off white head. Coffee and bread nose. Light coffeeish-meaty taste, some maltiness. Meh, drinkable and ok.

Bottled 50cl. I bought this bottle in Rheinfelden, Germany for about 50 cent. Beautiful ruby brown beer with a creamy beige head. Very pleasant inviting nose with hints of malt, coffee, hay, wax, burnt match, mocha, grass, candy sugar, pineapple, baklava, paprika and saaz hops. Great taste. Good balance. Beautiful malt profile. Smooth and very drinkable. Impressive sticky spotty lacework. Chocolatey finish. A wonderful surprise. I will purchase this beer again.
