2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Ungstrup (23917) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - OCT 3, 2009
Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel as well as light notes of hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw as well as lighter notes of a stable - a bit too artisanal for me - reminds me of a Biere de Garde more than a Doppelbock. Thanks fiulijn for sharing.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 LordCorkscrew (1758) - Ronco Scrivia (GE), ITALY - OCT 23, 2008

(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of fiulijn. Clear amber golden with a dense off-white head. Sweetish and slightly perfumy fruit aroma. Quite full-bodied with fruit and burned caramel with a rather bitter finish. Almost a Barleywine in style. 100908

Bottle, 7.5%. Slightly tart aroma. Muddy chestnut colour. Very small tan head. The flavour is very malty, quite peppery, with a little tartness. Good mouthfeel.
