This DIPA pours out the hazy color of honey and orange marmalade. It’s hopped with Warrior for buttering and Citra, Simcoe, and Falconer’s Flight all in a whirlpool after our boil. Its bright fruit and citrus overtones are grounded by earthier flavors of pine and wood. Medium bodied and well balanced, unfiltered and double dry-hopped, its focus is hop flavor and aroma, not so much bitterness.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a hazed gold with a big white head. Soft grapefruit juice and honey on the nose. Medium bodied, sweet honey with some gentle floral notes, and a big honeyed sweet citrus. Sweetness with gentle grapefruit zest. Lovely.

On darught at the brewpub. Arrived to the table a hazy gold with a moderate yellow head that lasted until mid-glass and left substantial lace. Very pleasant aroma of mango and grapefruit. Very fruity! The flavor begins with malt and caramel and is followed by a solid dose of fruity grapefruit. Moderate-strong bitterness at the finish. Very solid DIPA.

Aroma: The aroma of this one has some clean floral hops, with citrus and pine notes
Appearance: It pours a murky looking orange color with an off-white head and light lace
Flavor: The taste is nice as well, some light sweetness, and a good medium-plus bitterness
Palate: The body of this one is medium, it has a clean mouthfeel, and a nice, dry finish
Overall Impression: As I mentioned in my review of the berliner, I was really impressed by The Brewery at Bacchus. This was also a very nice beer in my opinion. I’ll definitely have to swing by this place on my next visit to New Paltz.
