<37.5cl bottle from Sainsburys. Clear reddish copper colour with a pink head that rapidly fades to a thin scum; sour raspberry aroma; big fruity raspberry flavours with a tart bite; and a sweet fruity finish. A pleasant refreshing drink.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 JayBaxter (408) - Greater Manchester, Greater Manchester, ENGLAND - JAN 26, 2008
Crystal clear deep red beer (looks like Vimto) with the addition of a large pale pale pink bubbly head. Aroma is like diving head first into a punnet of raspberries and again in the flavour but pherhaps a tad too sweet - still enjoyable non the less.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Fin (5749) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - JAN 23, 2008
Bottle from Sainsbury’s Pours dark red in colour with large billowing pink head. Sweet, very sweet and a bit artificially so. The carbonation died off quite quikly and I was left drinking a beer that tasted like a flat raspberryade.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 DonMagi (5599) - bantervile, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - JAN 18, 2008
Bottle from sainsburies. Aroma is wow rasberry jam, incredible amount of rasberry, struggle to get much else, noteably swet though. Taste is similar very sweet but carbonation does balanced, super drinkable, rasberry out its nut. Different to the liefmans as its a bit one dimentional, where as the liefmans has some beer notes in the background, but i still really like this stuff.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 hughie (3992) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - JAN 5, 2008
Dark red with a large white head. Jammy aroma. Sweet fruity taste lacks sufficient sourness but has an agreeably dry finish.

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2008 Ok, slightly embarrassed to have run out and bought this but I do like it slightly more than the kriek version. Reddish orange with a foamy, pinkish off white head that coats the glass. I think it’s just down to personal preference in the fruit flavoured candy department coz it’s basically the same as the kriek only raspberry instead, go figure. It’s like one of those cheap boiled sweets some old distant relative would offer you when you went round and you had to quickly spit it in the bin when they weren’t looking. Still fruit syrup with artificial sweetner and slight baslamic and caramel notes from the Bacchus. Less body than the kriek but then again the flavour is more my taste.. Although it’s my favorite of the two, I wouldn’t seek out either again. Not that I drank a lot of Liefmans myself but I feel for those of you that did... Update
I ended up at The Dove, for a continuation of the previous night’s leaving do, and had the Liefmans Frambozen on draught just a few hours after rating this and boy does it kick the pants off it. I actually thought I was quite harsh in my rating until then but after the comparison I’m actually considering taking the numbers down a notch...
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 MesandSim (7109) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 3, 2008
A Mes rate: 37.5cl bottle from Shamansburys. Attractive candy apple body with an unfortunate washing up liquid topping. Aroma is very soapy with some slight and artificial raspberry if you swill. Flavour is mildly better but it still feels artificial. The Bacchus base is clearly not a patch on the Odnar. There is some tartness but it seems to come from sweetner. Nice fruit in the finish saves the day but only just. Remarkable it is not.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 maeib (6618) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - DEC 30, 2007
UPDATED: FEB 18, 2011 Bottled. I have already described this as the replacement for Liefmans Frambozen as it has replaced it in my local supermarket and is pretty much identically packaged. It is without doubt a deliberate ploy and will catch out many an unsuspecting customer. The beer itself is a deep red colour with hardly any head. The aroma is packed with raspberries and some sort of sweet syrup; there is no hint of sourness in the nose. There is however a sour hint to the otherwise fruity friendly taste. More raspberries obviously and a nice brown ale type base flavour. Very similar in taste to the Liefmans but perhaps a little more serious and less in your face fruitiness. Score 3.4 Subsequent rating scored 3.5. Score unchanged
