COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Van Honsebrouck is a family owned brewery in West Flanders Belgium. It makes a range if beers including Bacchus, a beer in the local style of the region. It is on this beer that the kriek and framboise is based, a premium fruit beer for which Belgium is well known. Hand wrapped and presented in half champagne bottles. This is a remarkable beer.

Hint of metal in the aroma, lots of cherry and berry. Lovely colour. Teensy bit of hops. Smell of crisp, sweet malt.
The flavours are quite sweet, and very full of cherry! Flavours remind me of a lot of other fruit also.
Clean and refreshing, but possibly too sweet. Some nice tangy acidity in there also, I like it.

37.5cl bottle. Dark reddish brown colour with a small thin pinkish head that quickly vanishes. Cherries, berries and spices in the aroma. Average carbonation and medium body. Taste is a bit light, what is not bad, with some sour notes in the finish. Overall, an enjoyable beer.

37.5cl Bottle at Tripel. Deep red colour, pinkish white head. Aroma of cherries, quite sweet but not really sugary, marzipan, light tartness. Flavour is light tart, medium sweet, cherries, marzipan, tart-bitter finish. Medium-bodied. Nice.

Bottle. Very dark mahogany/red with small pinkish head. Very sweet fruits with cherry ofcourse but also ripe apples, strawberry and black berries. Nice spices, sweets and cherry jam. Some yoghurt and cream, and a light herbal finish. Very sweet with medium to full body. Decent enough, though very sweet.

Mit McTapps geteilt. Kein Klassiker, aber klassisch im Sinne von einem netten und gezuckerten Kirschbier, das angenehm Steinobst, vor allem Kirschen, zum Besten gibt und dabei mildsuess daherkommt. Gut ueberm Schnitt. Daumen also hoch.

The beer pours out in a hazy brown-ruby colour with steady low head and medium body. Aroma of acid, nuts and sour cherries. Taste of mild fruit vinegar, barley, nuts, sour cherries, acid amd light malt. Sour and fruity finish. Nice beer to enjoy.
