A typical Flemish beer with a pleasant wine-like taste and a rich past. This dark brown beer, which is matured in oak casks, has a slightly acid aftertaste.

Deep ruby body, medium lasting beige head. Aroma of sour grape, funk, bread, sugar. Flavours of'sour grape, bread, sugar, funk. Medium sweet slightly tart finish. Ok, could have been more complex. Maybe with some aging. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma is sweet malts, soured grapes, very light candy sugar, and light funk. Taste is very much the same with some tang and sour notes on the tip. Not too complex however. Appearance is a clear amber with a thin pearl head that retains fairly well.

375ml paper wrapped bottle from Beervana. Pours a clear dark mahogany with ruby hues and a small off-white airy head that diminishes quickly leaving a small lacing. Aroma is yeasty, acidic and fruity. Green plums, sour cherries, white grapes, vinegar and a touch of white wine. Interesting but I cannot help to find it a little bit subdued. Taste is tart, sour and very dry with vinegar, white wine, grapes, pommegranate and some unripe prickly pear as dominating flavors. Not really intense, and very dry, preventing the explosion of fruity expressiveness. Thin mouthfeel, a little bit watery. Seems quite sessionable (except for the price in Chile). Not bad, but I expected more considering the fancy packaging and the cask aging hype.

Brune sombre, petit collet qui s’estompe Aromes de bois tres present avec des effluves vineuses, fruits rouges et noirs. Un peu décevante en bouche, le bois est toujours la mais les notes acides tirent plus sur le citric

Dark brown, no head. Very distant cherry juice aroma. Sour berry taste, full of caramelized sugar in medium body. No bitterness, slight sour finish. Good balance.

Poured warm it has heavy head but goes away fast, heavily carbonated, good dark brown body. Lots of caramel on the nose, cola, painted furniture. Good graham cracker flavour and sour molasses, funky in the slightest but not nearly enough for a decent sour red. Bit of hazelnut finish. Maybe a good entry point for this kind of beer, and sessionable.

Aged for either 5 years or 10 years...the bottle label is unclear about the date but it’s certainly old-ish. Hazy deep amberish brown under a fast-evaporating head. Weird nose with some earthy stone fruit tones and something akin to greasy fried seafood. Medium body with some sour funk and a light woody tone, with a nice sour cherry tone on the finish.

375ml bottle. Muddy brown slightly red body with a brief medium head. Tart, plums, wineous notes, wood, red berries and green apples. Pretty mild compared to some other versions but quite tasty.
