COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A typical Flemish beer with a pleasant wine-like taste and a rich past. This dark brown beer, which is matured in oak casks, has a slightly acid aftertaste.

Pours dark amber with small head. Smells like cherries, dark fruits and sugar. Taste is tart with black cherries and belgian candy. Dry and tart after taste. Some wine-like qualities come out of this beer as well. Interesting, worth picking up if you see it.

Murky brown pour, small tan head. Mild aroma, earthy, a little acidic. Taste is similarly subdued sour ale, berries / fruit.

The style my mother aways drank. Clear ruby, tanned lacing foam head. Nice sour aroma and light sour taste. Real drink kick on first sip. Nice. (Velp 201602)

Ruby red brown with minimal head. Strong cellar and vinegar yeasty aroma. Taste is quite mild but similar to aroma. Tongue tickling acidity with a sweetness of burnt sugar somewhere under the sourness. A bit watery at the end. Not bad, but I think this Flemish brown style ainít for me.

Bottle from Cambridge Blue. Mid brown with little carbonation and a small off-white head. Light smell of vinegar, cherry and cola nut. Slight sour taste. Not much personality or flavour but itís pleasant. The well-carbonated palate is truly lively, as is the gently fruity soy aftertaste. Not the best Oud Bruin but it grows on me.

Dark reddish brown with a small off white head. Fruity and oak tones. Fruit, oak, malt and acidity. Medium body with a nice fruity / sour finish.

A 375ml wrapped bottle with a best before date of 25th November 2016 and poured into a Duvel tulip glass. It poured a clear dark brown colour with a less than one finger tanned head that dissipated quickly but leaves some nice stringy lacing. Aromas are mainly tart cherries with some grape, apple juice and vinegary elements. Taste is similar to the aromas with tart cherry sourness and grape bubblegum sweetness with hints of apple juice and brown sugar. Light bodied, with mid to high carbonation. Overall this was better than the Kriekenbier version that I tried before. However, unfortunately, according to the wrapping, it seems they add Stevia to the beer. I donít use sugar substitute sweeteners in anything ever, and I donít see why I need to start doing so in beers.

Draft that pours a medium to dark brown soft mellow wine like sour. Aroma is mild and smooth. The flavor is mild to medium sour with wine characteristics. Not overly sour easy to drink.
