COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A typical Flemish beer with a pleasant wine-like taste and a rich past. This dark brown beer, which is matured in oak casks, has a slightly acid aftertaste.

UPDATED: DEC 10, 2013 Schuim snel weg en nogal slap. Smaak is ok, maar totaal Geen nasmaak. Gelukkig laat avril een bittere nasmaak achter :) Hm.. Gekke rating. Wel schuim, mooi donker amberkleurig. Zuur, lekker!

(Bottle, Delirium Café, Brussels, 26 Oct 2014) Dark reddish brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty nose with notes of caramel, oak wood, dark bread and a slight acidity. Malty, slightly vinous nose with caramel, dark fruit, oak wood and a gentle acidity in fairly dry finish. Light to medium body, quite dry. Tasty and well balanced with a light acidity, possibly a bit on the thin side. Quite nice.

Lactic sour aroma with some dark fruit and woodyness. Maybe a bit watery palate and sour is maybe 3 of 10 sour. Bit light and lacking body, but good flavors and a nice sour overall. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Very white foam! Intense dark brown color. Sour refreshing fruity. Bit flat and simple but still memorable.

Bottle @ home. Pours dark dirt brown with tannish head. Hint of sour apples. Hits the tongue with sour brown and tannins with plenty of acidity. Finish is long and light.

Description talked about a wine-like beer, and it wasn’t false. I would add "watery-like". It will - with difficulty - please beer drinkers and wine drinkers.

Very short lived expired sweet apple juice followed by a watery tasteless oblivion. Too weak.

Bière qui fait penser au vin avec un côté acide. L’arrière goût est inexistant. Bière qui ne vaut vraiment pas le coup.

Appearance is between bordeaux-red and brown, with a white head that rapidly vanishes. Aroma off red fruits, which also reappears in the taste. This, in combination with a medium sour taste, gives the beer a winey taste. Love the beer, love the style of beer.

Having this two years past best before date, so not sure what effect this has had on the beer. Definitely winey and acidic as the label suggests. Would be good to try again fresh. Haven’t dipped my toes into sour style beers too much

Super interesting and just a unique glass of beer. Reddish highlights and a pleasant earthiness to the aroma. Complex taste that went from sweet to savory with fruit and wood only to end up sour on the back of my tongue and roof of my mouth. Drooling, I went for another sip.
