sayravai (3029), Helsinki, Finland Jul 16, 2007 (Bottled) Hazy golden with a large, foamy and lasting head. Neutral-malty, slightly grape-vinous aroma with some honey. Quite acidic, slightly sour flavor with grapefruits pretty evident. Some fresh hops are present, but they get a bit buried under the grapes. Yeast brings more sweet fruitiness to balance the grape sourness, and after that it’s actually pretty nice. Medium-bodied, very foamy-carbonated and moderately acidic palate. A quite nice experiment from Alvinne, but not up to their better brews. oberabcbbsok (642), Hoboken, Belgium May 14, 2007 A beer named after 2 persons Bachus god of wine and Arnoldus, Saint of the biers. A beer with 15% grapes. The smell of grapes you can find , but there is also the smell of hop. A little touch of bitterness make this beer till an average but good beer thebeertourist (1697), Oslo, Norway Apr 20, 2007 Bottle. This golden-coloured beer had a rush getting out of the bottle, so quite a bit ended up on the kitchen table. Cloudy with a lot of sediment. Cloudy. Huge, rich head. Initially sweet candy sugar aroma, but vegetables soon takes over. Quite sweet flavours, some vegetable flavours, but also hints of grape juice towards the finish. Good carbonation. Interesting experiment. madsberg (4363), Bangalore, India Mar 11, 2007 Bottled. Unclear golden colourd. Dense white small head. Quickly diminishing. Sweetness, yeast and fruits in the aroma. Flavour is a bit grapy. Has fruits and sweetnes and loads of sugar. Medium bodied. A bit dry. Ends on a very sweet note. Thanks to Joris for this beer. Mes_and_Sim (3967), London, Greater London, England Mar 9, 2007 A Mes rate:
Bottle sampled at ZBF but the thanks go to Mads for breaking out the bottle. VERY sweet stuff. I found it rather artificial and spicy. Plenty of hops in there and obvious berries but the fake sugaryness seems to mask everything. Something a little sickly in the nose. Very swift, almost vanishing blueberry finish.
