COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Misty Mountain is a great example of the American-style India Pale Ale synonymous with Craft Beer. Originally brewed for sailors on shipping routes between England and India, British IPAs are known for their strong hop bitterness, which were added as a preservative for the long voyage. The American adaptation is decidedly stronger and offers a more robust hop bite. Back East IPA is no exception. This assertively hopped beer has a great hoppy aroma, crisp hop bite, and smooth medium body.

UPDATED: APR 1, 2014 Can: Completely opaque and clogged copper and a super huge, long lasting, cloud-like eggshell head. Chunky, fat lacing left all around. Aroma is like grass water, heavy grass notes and raw hops, slightly herbaceous and only mildly citric. Taste is mild bitterness, light herbal and white pepper notes, light orangey citrus but pretty faint. More grass, light floral and herbs. Toasty cracker malt in the finish. Also a slightly strange bit of vegetal I can’t exactly figure out. Medium mouth feel, thicker than expected, decent carbonation.

12oz can purchased in CT. Pours a light golden amber with a white head. Pretty easy drinking IPA. Nothing spectacular but good overall.

Cans picked up from the local package store around bradley intl. check out my package. canned 8/14/15 bro. Out of the can while i write reports that may or maynot cause expulsion from the corporate environment that i operate in. Mild bitterness, hope resin with tones of malt sweetness. I am pretty much like whatever but in a way this is just what i needed. Package.

From the can. It pours a slightly cloudy medium amber with a long lasting head. Aroma is more malts and moss rather than hops. Some resiny and fruity hops buried below. The fruit smells like strawberries or raspberries. Medium body. The taste is also somewhat malt forward but the bitterness is not completely dim as it comes up on the backside.

Great head retention and cool color for an IPA, but sadly, the front of the mouth taste is lacking and the malt overpowers the hops, and not in the best way. Again, though, for a new brewery, they are off in the right direction. Hopefully they improve on this. Its drinkable but not a favorite.

Poured from can into a tulip: Pours golden with a one finger head. Aroma of resin, slightly sweet from the malts, and a little floral. Flavor is very thin, hop bite is minimal and so is the flavor. Thin body, not a lot going on with this beer, but not offensive either.

Can poured a copper amber color with a thin coating of white head. Aroma has mild hops, some resins, and bits of citrus. Mouth feel is medium with good carbonation. Flavor has nice hops, resins, a fair bit of supporting malt, a bit of bitterness, and citrus.

Can from a six pack purchased at local stop and shop (supermarket). Smells, pours and tastes like a Bud with a tiny bit more hops. Really unimpressive.

Draft at Willimantic. Clear bright golden yellow color, thick white head. Aroma of citrus and straw. Taste is lemony bread dough. Nice.
