Sample at brewery. Pours chestnut colored with small head. Aroma is nutty, coffee/cola with some bitter chocolate and banana, light tartness. Taste is tart cola and berries with coffee and chocolate. Medium body. Probably the best so far from Back East.

On tap at the Brewery, 12 oz. cans, and in 64 oz. growler. Pours: dark brown/black with a dark tan head, nice carbonation with chocolate and light smoke nose. Taste: Nice roasty mouth feel with chocolate and coffee, great drinking Porter! Back East has some great beers

Sampled at the brewery. Pours dark brown with a beige head. Aroma of roasted and chocolate malts, some light toffee and caramel, hints of dough and bitterness. Flavor the same. Average texture. Not bad at all.

Shaker draft at Flatbread Co. In Canton, CT. Pour is opaque dark brown pour with a tan head that laces well. Smell is nutty and coffee forward with some hops and bitter chocolate. Taste is chestnut with coffee notes, not much chocolate and a good hop finish.

Draft / guest tap @ Willimantic Brewpub. Nose is light caramel candy and weak notes of chocolate. No surprises with the flavor it is exactly as it smells. Melted caramel candy with a chocolate finish. I understand I’m drinking a porter and not a stout but... The body is ridiculously thin and watery. This would be much improved with some more fullness. The flavor itself is respectable yet not memorable.

On tap at Hot Rods New London CT. Dark brown off white head some lacing. Roasty burnt nose. Roast present in flavor lighter palate but flavorful. Not too shabby.

On tap at Cambridge House Brewery. Pours a thin clear dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, bitter chocolate, charred malt. Flavor is oddly medicinal- lots of cherry cough syrup and sweet roasted malt. Blech, something went wrong with this one.

Great Porter, has the dark and warm feel of a nice Guinness with a lot more flavor, the carmel flavor is a great touch

Draft into mug. Dense bordering on opaque brown. Roast notes in the nose cut by a hint of maple syrup. A bit on the body did for my preference in a porter, and not add malty as I hoped. Still a bit of today pops through.typical shorter finish with lingering notes of light roast coffee. Respectable as goes porters if not remarkable, but we also don’t have s lot of local porters so yea for that!
