COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This full-bodied India Pale Ale is loaded with fresh hops for a powerful blend of citrus, pine and fruit aromas. The firm malt backbones works well with the bold hop finish that everyone expects from an IPA.

Bottle. Floral, citrus on the nose. Flavor is the same. Chewing aspirin and not malty enough for the hop profile. Meh.

Bottle in trade from Burg. Thanks buddy. Pours dark amber red colored with a small off white head. Aroma of straight bready and sweet caramel malts, some toffee, I think they forgot the hops here. Let’s just assume this a session barleywine going into the taste. Flavor is watered down sweetness, not a single hop to be found. Light bodied and low to medium carbonation. Well, Alabama, you have your work cut out for you. No this isn’t offensive or off putting in any way, but there’s nearly no flavor and certainly no hops here. (Note: this was bottles 6/26/14 and poured 8/7/14 so it’s not as if this is way out of date or even close). Imagine what your mash would taste like when brewing, pour it in a bottle, and call it Freckle Belly. I’ve got to note that seeing the other ratings makes me think there is severe bottle variation on this one. A fun tick as usual and hope to try again on tap, as I hear it is worlds different. Hey, if this was listed as an English IPA, it might get a better rating from me. Alas, it seems very clearly meant to be an American IPA, which it misses on by a good mile or so. Again, not offensive or bad, just nothing much going on here.

bottle, this is very sweet and has a sharp boozy flavor. No hop aroma or flavor but a very bitter finish. This is soooo 2008.

Poured an amber color from the tap with aromas of caramel, light floral hops, some fruit and a touch of citrus. Flavors follow suit, light citrus and bitterness in the aftertaste.

Tap at Lazy Dog. Pours a transparent amber with a layer of off white head. Taste of bitterness. Not much else. Aroma of hoppiness and some malts.

Clear amber color with tan head. 04.08.2014 bottling date. Tooty fruity, caramel, floral aromas. Medium body with average co2. Nice hoppy bitter citrus, pine flavors with a light malt sweetness___bitter dry finish---good.

Bottle’s a bit on the old side but still has strong aromas of tropical fruit and citrus. It’s clear amber with half inch of white bubbles. Once you take a sip it’s much maltier than nose suggests, hoppiness is a bit flat. Could be the age. Balance is there.

Ordinaire.

Bottle to tulip Tropical fruit, resin, grapefruit, spruce, and caramel aromas. It’s a clear, slightly red tinged amber with a creamy off white head, moderate lacing and mild carbonation. Caramel sweetness up front, with papaya and grapefruit and then as the sweetness fades, the bitterness shines through. It may be a tad thin as the sweetness fades quite quickly, but otherwise the mouthfeel is silky and smooth. A decent IPA.

Pours a clear medium orangish copper with a big frothy and lacey white head. Aroma of pine, resin, citrus grapefruit, sweet caramel and biscuit malts. Taste is a good balance of malts and hops with the focus more on the big malt base but flavors of pine, resin, grapefruit, citrus notes, caramel and sweet pale malts. Medium bodied well hopped but never astringent, great ipa bit could use a bit more hop flavor and bitterness to balance out the huge malt flavor.
