This medium-bodied Porter is brewed with a unique blend of roasted malts and fresh hops. Chocolate, smoky notes are abundant throughout and the citrus aroma provides a refreshing twist to this old world beer style.

Careful, it will grow on you!

A decent dry porter from, what, Alabama’s only craft brewery? Big on the dark coffee notes works well with raising the bitterness quotient. its overall a bit hoppier than i would want, but its still an outstanding porter.

Bottle. Dark brown/amber with small tan head. Aroma of citrus hops and roasted malts. Medium body with roasted malts upfront and notes of chocolate and a bitter hop finish. A nice hoppy porter.

(Draught) Pours a clear brown body with a medium beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, cocoa, coffee, and dark fruit. Flavor of roasted malt, grass, chocolate, earth/mineral, nuts, caramel, and coffee with a dry, bitter finish.

Bottle from Liquor Express. Pours black with an inch of khaki foam. Not getting much on the nose. It’s a bit hop forward on the tongue. Finishes clean. Not my favorite interpretation of the style but solid nonetheless.

12oz bottle. Dark brown pour. Aroma of toasted grains, burnt malt. Hearty flavor! Burnt sugar bitterness, sharp licorice, bold pine, heavy roast. Rich flavors. It’s a big Porter. (3736)

Decent porter - nice brown head, a burnt roasted malt flavor is predominate. There are also some fruity notes, maybe orange.

An average porter with a better than average name. Its a shame the beer couldn’t have incorporated some actual kudzu into the beer... Josh brought this one back with him from Mississippi in 2013.

Bottle @ home, courtesy of fucken a brosmer, I believe. Thanks! Pours a dark brown appearance with a creamy, dark brown head. A fair amount of anise, roast, and dark chocolate in the nose along with some coffee notes. Somewhat bitter, dull herbal hoppy, dark bready, coffee flavor. Decent.

Had this in the fridge for a while before I tried. I think this is the first Alabama brewery to make its way over the Georgia line. Pours what I would call a dark brown closer to brown than black with a generous tan head. Smells a bit grassy and citrusy. A bit thin on the mouthfeel. Malt barely exceeds the bitter with a burnt finish. Decent beer. Bottle - Ale Yeah - Decatur, GA

UPDATED: AUG 20, 2013 12 oz. Bottle poured into glass. Nice tan/khaki head. Some lacing.Smells of citrus (tangerine) chocalate, and grizzly straight. Taste is bright citrus hops, bitter chocolate, smoked coffee beans and caramel. Great brew from Alabama. One of my all time favorites and from my state.
